Default Running in Circles...

SteelerFan1967,

One thing you can try with your youngsters would be to use multiple stoppages. Set up their teams! select a ball carrier. Maybe even give him a ball. After a few seconds stop the board and allow the little guys to adust the figures that aren't going in the right direction. This sounds like what they are already doing and it will reinforce their way of playing! Then they can start to make up their own rules. I've been doing this with my younger cousins and they love it! 3yrs & 4yrs old. as for the rest of the world wanting to watch electric football games on TV? Get Real! who wants to see that?

Default The Only Way

The ONLY way we can get people to watch these games from start to finish is IF we start treating this "toy" as a REAL SPORT! WE HAVE TO SWEAT, PEOPLE!!!

If NFL QBs could stop the play before getting hit, then stats would be crushed every game. If RBs came down as soon as they were touched - ok Cedric Benson does in REAL life - then that would make for a boring game. If every move and thought took 5-minutes to contemplate and complete, then there would be nobody in the stands to watch.

THIS IS WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN ACROSS THE COUNTRY - AND ACROSS THE BOARD, UNIVERSALLY, BEFORE WE CAN EVEN FATHOM TV:

1. Player weight limits need to be UNIVERSAL!!! Bump up the weights (weight = stable, predictible players).
  • OL / DL: 4.8 grams
  • RBs/TEs/LBs: 4.4 grams
  • WRs/DBs: 4.0 grams

2. Fields of play have to be UNIVERSAL!!! Everybody needs a 48" x 24" BIG Board!!! This allows for more action.

3. Timing has to be UNIVERSAL! From coast-to-coast and border-to-border!
  • :45-seconds for Offense to setup.
  • :10-seconds FOR EVERYTHING ELSE!!!
  • Defense to setup.
  • Offensive audibles.
  • Defensive audibles.
  • Offense's playcall.
  • If "Pass" :10-seconds to run the board, stop it AND pass it!!!
  • Defensive adjustment to the WR after Completion or RB after 10 yard Run.
  • Separate teams and record Stats.
  • Repeat 25 plays per Quarter (100 plays = Game).

4. Tackles have to be UNIVERSAL as well. FOB for Runs until 10yds, ABC for everything else.

5. OL gaps:
  • No closer than BB Diamond width, except on FGs, XPs and Punts.
  • No further apart than Miggle TTC length.

6. Defense:
  • Anything goes EXCEPT for the dreaded 11-man line!!!

7. Passing / Kicking Contraptions:
Whatever it takes to "legally" fling the tater to your WRs and kick the ball thru the uprights, or simulate thereof, within preset time constraints (see above). Note: Pea-shooters and sling-shots ARE NOT ALLOWED!!!
  • TTQB
  • TDQ / TDK
  • Old-school metal QB
  • Spinner
  • Dice w/chart
  • Sticks

This pretty much covers everything I know of that separates this hobby. Race, creed, religion and political affiliations aside, that is!

IF WE CAN ALL AGREE ON THESE 7 THINGS, THEN WE'LL BE WELL ON OUR WAY TO TV-LAND.

My $.07 - Jimbo.

Default Jimbo And Electric Coach Right On The Money

COACHES,

What jimbo posted in detail is right on the money, weight to style of tackling, the whole 9. I have never read anything expalined in detail to the letter in regard to what is needed. Also what electric coach posted in regard to "THE OLD PHILOSOPHY IS WHAT GOT THIS HOBBY IN TROULBE IN THE FIRST PLACE". The problem has alway's been when you bring up a topic that may hint on change, the old guard comes out and defends the past. Each time the weight issue is addressed, it alway's bring's drama. 3.2 is a standard, standard to what. " IT'S A NEW DAY". You have guy's seeking something fresh and the olden goldens pop up saying i think we should stay where we were. It starts with league commissioners, tourney heads and manu's.

Coaches act like it would kill them to stick some golf tape on a base to bring up the weight. "IF YOU KEEP DOING THE SAME THING YOU GET THE SAME RESULTS" Alot of manu's dont even talk one another when they should be asking each other " HOW'S BUSINESS" over a beer. But noooooooo, they feel they are competiton with one another. ONE COMPANY'S SALES DONT HAVE JACK TO DO WITH THE OTHER'S. IF I WANT TO BUY BUZZBALL BASES THAT'S BECAUSE I WANT THEM. I COULD SLAP BUZZBALL BASES ON MIGGLE FIGURES, YOU BOTH GOT PAID, WHAT'S THE PROBLEM.(NOT SINGLING THESE TWO CO OUT, JUST MAKING AN EXAMPLE)

The bottom line is everybody in this hobby has to want it, and that means working together. If a gym can ask it's member's to pay $300 dollars a year for membership and thousands of people do it because they love workling out. why cant we do that and put that money towards building a real internet tv station to start and show the network's this can work and maybe they will pick it up. YOU GOTTA WANT IT!!!!!!!! ADULT PETTINESS IS WHAT'S KILLING ATTITUDES TOWARDS THIS HOBBY. Once we get rid of that, we can work together. the fact that a certain co does not acknowledge this great magnificent site whatsoever is exactly what im talking about. THEN IM ACCUSED OF MAKING IT AN US AGAINST WHOMEVER PROBLEM.

When i put out a post awile back asking everyone to join forces and make one big convention, LOOK WHAT HAPPENED, NOTHING. WHY, BECAUSE SOME DONT WANT TO WORK OR BE IN THE SAME ROOM WITH OTHERS. "ADULT PETTINESS 101" IN FULL EFFECT.

Take a look at what jimbo mapped out, why cant we do something like that ?

PS/ GET YOURSELVE'S A "TDQ" IT'S ONE OF THE GREATEST INVENTIONS SINCE THE DISCOVERY OF FIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just an FYI...
I have talked with George... and.. we have talked about business...
It's usually "what kind of fool would invest money in EF".. lol

But... I buy his products.. lots of em..
And I'll be purchasing some of his new bases once they hit the internet shelves..Cuz.. I want some..

In the last month I bought 9 sets of Miggles Yellow bases.. and some of the Proline Strong TTC's and standard TTC's.. The yellows are for my solitaire.. and the others are to tweak and gauge by.. Most of it.. Cuz I want em.

And thought it's been a while.. I've talked with Reg at times.. We don't have any products that compete.. but.. If we did.. I don't think anything would change..

SO.. I don't have any problems at all, and never have, with either one of them..

Don't have any problems with the Miggle folks.. but.. I doubt they know I exist.. lol
