Default 50+ is cool

50+ is cool with me, home and away, as for time consuming I will put in the time to do my team because once again this is my hobby, painting and putting decals on my team helps me relax and I will put the money into my hobby to make my team work at It's best, Once again I find it funny in this hobby, we will spend mad money on bases on ebay or tons of money on other MF/EF products but when It comes to making a home and a away team thats a no can do, will thats my two cents

Default My Nickel's Worth

I think EVERYONE has that ONE team that is pimped out for all occasions. But, the majority of the Coaches that travel and play in Tournaments or Road Warrior Leagues find it easier to just use split squads - Offense / Kick Return in dark jerseys, and Defense / Kickoff in white jerseys. Everybody's priorities are different. The time it takes to deck out one team in both jerseys, could've made 2 split squad teams. I'd rather have more teams that are ready to go for any occasion. Sure I'd love to play my '85 BEARS all the time, but if that's someone else's ONLY team, then I could just as easily use another team that I pimped in half the time!!!

I agree fully, I spend time working on my team, painitng, decaling, tweaking etc...I fully believe in putting in work, as that part to me is very entertaining.

I am working on a Chargers squad, both offense and defense (dark and light jerseys), I am having a blast getting figures together, testing tweaking etc...I can spend hours over my little 510 test/tweak field. Fielding a team that you did 100% of the work on is an accomplishment one can be proud of.

...it is EXTREMELY frustrating when YOU paint an entire 50-man team in both jerseys and the other guys only have their dark jerseys. I played a whole season in my white's. My 1st game in my dark unis was the Wildcard Playoff Game!?! So, that's really when I decided to save time and only do split squads.

All this does not even cover if you have all custom figures for both home and away. $10 per figure x 100 figures { 50 home and 50 away } = $1000. on figures alone , this does not count decals, paints brushes , facemasks, chinstraps , etc. I try to hand paint the entire figure without using any decals , that takes ALOT of time.
At some point it may come down to money. Not only that but I have to have 2 of each figure , one for home and 1 for away . I want the same figure for Payton in both home and away , that takes time to get the same figure to look exactly the same .

I like do whole teams.I even do custom jersey teams to.I dont like O in dark and D in white. Its cool in tourneys but thats it.
I do like how Michigan Joe has on team in michigan and different players ON the other jersey.I did so many michigan and updates with roster and poses I have cut people on my teams. But in note if you play league with that you have 70-80 roster names.
Like Jeff said it can get expensive. Not every one can do that.So in our league some only have on jersey. Some have 4 to 5 teams.I have 3 jerseys in packers and working on a new alt uniform.I JUST GET BORED plus my new team is going to mostly be all customs.

Default spending money on this hobby?

If It's money thats keeping guy's from making home and away teams, well, in every hobby one is going to spend money thats just the way it is, If you look at it like this $300.00 for a game Board and maybe for bases $60.00, for the new passing QB $30.00 and so on, so if you like the hobby and want to be part of it you are just going to have to spend the money, If you look at it you are supporting your hobby.

True, but I have $500 for the board $200- $300 in bases , I do not want to think about custom figures , maybe $500 , . That is why I need to pick 1 team and stick with them right Chris.
