Do you have a clearer photo of what your TDQ looks like? I am definitely interested in purchasing one in the near future.

HEY G! OUTSTANDING! WE IN THE LAEFL HAVE A MEMBER THATS IN A WHEEL CHAIR, HE AND OTHERS WILL BE PLACING AN ORDER,I ALSO. MY QUESTION IS WHERE CAN I FIND BASIC SPRING MECHANISMS LIKE THE QBK FROM THE EARLY 60s No.500 THIS WAS MY 1st EXPOSURE TO ELF(MY BROTHERS BOARD). RECENTLY I'VE PURCHASED ONE OFF OF EBAY, AND I PLAN TO SEND IT 2 MY BROTHER IN ATLANTA(AGE 58) BUT THE QBK NEEDS AN OVER-HAUL. I'VE TRIED ALL TYPES OF FRAIL WIRE,BUT I'M NOT WHERE I WANT 2 BE. ALSO I SAW YOUR QB AT E. ROBINSONS HOUSE LAST WEEK(REVOLUTIONIZED) YOUR PRODUCT IS GOING TO OPEN UP DOORS IN THIS HOBBY!!!(AGAIN WHAT TYPE OF WIRE FOR THE OLD QBK 1963?)

I don't know what kind of wire was used in those old passers, but I've made lots of kickers with springs. Try using the spring out of an old ball point pen. Simply unravel it and re-shape it to fit your passser. The metal tension in those springs is perfect for kickers, and they last forever. I have 35 year old kickers that still kick a mile. I would think that they would work just as well for passing.

ajahaana,
Thanks for the kind words. The early 60's QBK you speak of had a very light spring in the neighborhood of .008 to .010 I would simply go to your local hardware and by some music wire in the .010 to .015 and make your own spring. The ball point pen wire is from .30 to .45 so it will work but will be plenty strong. If you have trouble finiding it let me know & I will help you.

LARamsfan,
No I dont have a better picture.(camera stinks) We are going to debut the TDK on the opening day of Tornado Alley this Saturday the 10th. Both Kansas Bill and Wolf have excellent cameras so there should be some great shots.

Geno,

When did you start shipping today? It's now 4:40 PM and mine's not here yet. Do you think something's wrong? I'll check the mailbox every 20min and will let you know if as soon as they get here...but so far they're not here.

I'm just a little excited if you can't tell.

I may sleep by the mailbox in case your delivery driver gets here during the night!!

WOO-HOO!!!!!!!
