Default NY Giants charity basketball game

So tonight my son Ryan and I went to watch my daughters former high school alumni and faculty play some past NY Giant players.
Stephen Baker, Perry Williams, Odessa Turner, Curtis McGriff, and Byron Hunt were among the players.
I went up to each one during the half time autograph event. I had told Byron Hunt at the last one of these event two years ago, that if I ever had a Giants team in competition that I would have him on my team. This year at Miggle , I did that.
I had my team rosters for the three teams I have. The 86, 90, and 2006 Giant teams. Raiderman crafted my 2006 team and they are real sharp , so I brought them to the event.
I went up to each guy and had my copy of the latest tweak with Greg on the cover. I said that I wanted them to sign my team roster for my electric football team and there was like a delayed reaction time to each guy. I asked if they played as a youth, and most replied no until I showed them the tweak and a few players. Then it was like home movies going on in their heads. Each guy told a quickie about playing. They all said the Giant players I had were great.
Stephen Baker and Odessa Turner were on the same table. Odessa was very competitive and wanted to get back to the basketball game, Stephen was just as happy as can be signing stuff. There was only seconds left before the buzzer went off signaling the end of memorabilia time and I got to Stephen Baker.
I showed him the 86 roster and he signed it as I told him what it was. I then showed him the Tweak. He started talking about playing this in high school. He told how he and his friends put baby powder on the field to make it look like snow. He wanted to talk and talk about the game and Odessa popped him in the head with his towel and told him , come on. Stephen did not stop for a minute, he signed three or for more autographs and had pictures taken with people but kept talking about how much he enjoyed electric football.
The funny thing was that Perry Williams also told about putting baby powder on the field and he was at a completely different ens of the basketball court and no connection but experience with electric football.
I gave Stephen Baker the web site and you never know, he just might check it out.
I showed a bunch of people there the tweak and kept opening up the the article about Reggie. The response to the pictures of the stadiums was great.

So all in all I had a great time talking up the hobby.
I will post pictures tomorrow after my daughter makes them the size I can post on this site.

Default love it

Now that is a cool story.

That is promoting the hobby.
imagine if we reel in an NFL / exNFL player? add a "name" to this, and that will get things going.

i think its official - MANTARAY DRE should add the title of "great" preceeding your name from now on

Default Bronx player

Sam Garnes was there also. I spoke with him a while after the game. He had a hamstring get tight and was stretching it after the game and I brought my team over to him. He asked to see the players and when I gave him Justin Tuck to check out he smiled and told me that Justin is going to be great.
He was born in the Bronx, and played the game. HE has a friend with him and that guy was smiling the whole time and thought it was great that the game is still being played. I kept repeating that the guys don't just dance anymore.
It was fun.

I am very disappointed in my camera. I think it has finally bit the dust. It is one you have to hold for a while to get the shutter to click and last night I had the darn thing on jpeg most of the night. I am not sure if I can print stills from them but I am working on it.

Default Sam Garnes

went to the same high school as me - DE WITT CLINTON in the BX.

gonna paint that team up one day with him, Ralph Lauren, Robert Klein, Tracy Morgan, Gerald Kelly and any other celebrity that went to the school.
i didnt know sam, i was way ahead of him, but this game comes around again next year, i will have the team done and you can maybe show him in his pose on the virbra turf.

HOOKED!

bytheway, for laughs sake - i was in HS the same years as Tracy Morgan (SNL) and Gerald Kelly (defcomedyjam). those guys used to crack us up in the locker room before gym. Especially Tracy. Me and Gerald used to go at it in ball, got em with a left hand lay up one day, he didnt see that coming. everyother time, he schooled me .

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
