Cool A quick SWB "THANKS" to everyone...

Currently I'm at the crib chill'n with Coach J, Pratt, and Jimbo & family. We finally got everything out of the hotel this morning, and are taking a break. We're planning to hook up with Dewayne Jennings later this evening.

I want to personally thank everybody who came out to the Seawall Brawl. We hope everyone had a good time, and we pray that all of you get home safely.

I also want to thank everyone who donated items to help with our tournament. Your generosity was truly appreciated.

Lastly I want to thank everyone who lent a hand during the weekend. From our marvelous staff: (Lisa, Paula, Mabel, D.C., Pratt, Burgess, and Jimbo)

To all the guys who reffed, and took stats...

To the coaches who brought boards...

To Will Travers and Weirdwolf for the skills competition and banner...

To all of the men and women who stayed after the event to help us clean up.

Little things like this are the things I'll remember most.

Congrats to Beltsville for dominating in this years tournament.
Congrats to Little Jerry and Nigel for giving us a Kid's final to remember.
Congrats to Robert Chalmers for pulling the Biggest upset in the tournament, by defeating the 2 time Champ D.C. Smith (after a 21-21 tie in regulation) Robert won in Overtime by 1 yard

And,

Congrats to Adrian Baxter and Robert Chalmers for another barn-burner in our Championship Game that had to be decided in Overtime.

I will come back to write a more proper post, but right now I need some recovery time. (Guys that were here will tell you that I had a bad knee... so all of the help we received... I can't thank you all enough)

Take care and Peace,

Don Smith

Hi Don,

Greetings to you my friend. Thanks again for putting a great tournament and weekend for those who made it. I FINALLY got home at 12:15 this morning 6/24 and went to bed around 12:45. Believe it or not I somehow made it to work. I am really just moving on instinct and will crash as soon as I get home this evening.

Have a good day and thanks again for putting together a great weekend.

Coach J

Default What??????

Fellas,
Congradulations to Norrin Ladd! This guy is just Cosmic as he travels from one EF world to another! He consumes worlds and leagues as he transverse the EF universe. However, I new a new star would soon illuminate our universe. Little Mr. Chalmers, one of the best little base tweakers around, deserves much love! I've heard that many BEFL Cats showed up and placed their cards on the table. Well done BEFL. Now I know there were a lot of other people at the brawl, but I must admit outside of some Kudos and a few pictures we have heard very little. I can't get to these events right now so somebody has to speak up and put us down with some detail. THERE MUST BE SOME WORD!?

Smile Coach J...

I'm glad you got home safely my friend. I spoke to Burgess, Pratt, and Mike Carr... and they all arrived safely as well. Yesterday afternoon Jimbo and his family left for home, he called me last night after his plane landed in Chicago. I'm glad all of you cats got home with no problems.

Coach it was great having you here. I especially liked hanging out with you and the fellas for Sunday night's dinner. Thanks for hanging out with us on Monday as well.

Take care and I'll be in touch.

- Don

Default Sweet Home Chicago

There's just something about sleeping in your own bed, isn't there? We had the time of our lives - again - and I gotta go on record by letting my big bro, sis and nephew (Don, Lisa and DC) that we are forever grateful for having yous in our lives. I wish we didn't have to leave - I was digging that real estate channel! - but don't be surprised if the Dunaganmobile shows up in Virginia one day soon. I don't think I can survive another Chicago winter, so warmer winters are DEFINITELY on my horizon.

THANKS to EVERYONE that made the weekend special.

CONGRATS go out to the new Champ, Adrian Baxter and the runner-up, Robert Chalmers. You both played a heck of a game and deserve to be recognized for the fine Coaches you are.
  • Adrian: THANKS for FINALLY having FUN! Or at FINALLY looking like it this time!
  • Robert: GREAT JOB coaching those All-Stars! Once you started PLAYING and letting the ref make the calls I saw a big change in your game and you almost made history - again! Keep it up and we'll be seeing you in the Finals a lot more often.

Big Keith: you deserve a BIG round of applause for bringing your 2 lil guys up in this hobby and they will both continue to accumulate future Championships, no doubt! Hopefully YOU don't!

Mr. UNITY '07 and '08: GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES. Sunday Nite Dinner was cool. Wish ya coulda stayed a lil longer, Dre, but Coach J hung out with Don and I and I don't even think we talked about MF. That movie was hilarious. I'm quite certain you'll carry the torch with as much enthusiasm as you always did. To me, you and Coach J perform a service that many more of us should strive to learn from and follow.

Burg and Carr: Without you 2 cats, we wouldn't been able to do a lot of the behind the scenes things that Don and I had to do. THANKS for caring when many others didn't. Your efforts DID NOT go unnoticed!

Mrs. Jennings and Family: THANK YOU FOR ONE OF THE BEST GUYS I KNOW - on and off the MF field!!! DeWayne has ALWAYS been a bright light and it is forever evident each time The Jennings Family makes an appearance. Like I said at the Award Ceremony, I wanna be like DJ when I grow up!!! CONGRATS TO THE ENTIRE JENNINGS FAMILY.

To everyone else: THANK YOUS AGAIN for making the weekend exceptional.

Cool Swb...

Tron,

First let me say that... you were missed. Without you, your's truly had to do the MC-ing again.

We all took time to send you, your wife, and your soon to be new edition, our best and well wishes.

As Far as the brawl goes... I can only speak for myself. I had a good time and got to hangout with a lot of good friends. After the tournament we still had guests here for most of this week, so things are just getting back to normal. I should have some type of recap (w/pix) up by tomorrow.

Highlights included:

Adrian Baxter winning the Championship in overtime over Robert Chalmers.

Robert Chalmers winning in overtime against D.C., and Big Keith.

Tom Johnson winning in Overtime against Norbert Revels.

Little Jerry Fulton Winning the Kid's Championship over Nigel Goodman.

Special Award from the MFU Legend's committee to Darrian Ross from Baltimore.

2007 Mr. Unity Coach J passing the torch to the 2008 Mr. Unity Andre Cogdell.

2008 MFU/SWB Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dewayne Jennings of Electric Gridiron.

If you want pix or other people's opinions that's up to them, but it should always be a "choice" thing not a "force" thing.

Peace,

Don

Default I had a great time.

Thanks to all involved with getting the big rig rolling in 08.
I can't go into too much detail about the Brawl. I'm working with some writers to present a great recap for the upcoming Tweak issue.
Everything was 1st class as usual. There were a few bumps on the road, but at least the electric didn't go out.

The MFU group showed much love to the NEFL, many of our coaches received medals during the awards ceremony.

DC showed once more that he is something special. If I could be reborn, I would want to be him!

The Chalmers name is MF/EF/BB. Great job Robert.

I got to put the rest the questions of being a WR. Shawn Noble has a pro arm. He was throwing lasers out in the parking lot of the hotel to me. He thought he would break my hand, but I told him to bring it. And I didn't even have my receiver gloves on!!! That was great stuff.

Well the rest of the recap will be in the Tweak, so make sure you are in good standings with the MFCA, so you can get the summer issue.

Big ups to A. Baxter. That belt was sweet. And in honor of Adrian, I will sign off

Love, Peace & Hair grease

Default super hero Robert Chalmers

super hero Robert Chalmers

another super hero has been added Robert Chalmers is Hulkling,
Robert spent the first years of his life raised by his father
big Keith Chalmers. Not knowing that his father is a super hero
(AKA HERCULES), and Robert not knowing of his true origins he believed that his shape-shifting and super-strengh abilities meant that he was a mutant and he kept them secret.
Robert used his abilities to fit in at EF events and became friends with
jimmy Davis, one of the top class at tweaking bases. It was to jimmy Davis that Robert first revealed his powers to, instead of being mad, jimmy Davis saw the gift in Robert at tweaking bases, and showed Robert some things about tweaking and with that and what his father showed Robert ,
now Robert can change into popular figures such as
THE HUMAN TORCH (AKA DEARELL), Thor (AKA NORBERT) and
Iron-man (AKA JIMBO D.) and sometimes
the HULK (AKA JIMMY D.), Robert is a good addition to the super hero list and is a friend of the hulk's.
