Coach J
Many people talk about the games not being shown on the east coast, but increasingly almost all USC games are shown at least on FOXSPORTS here in Atlanta, if you have that package. Last year I watched every game but one, because most of them are on ABC tv here.

Yes I do have FOX SPORTS and of the Pac-10 teams USC is the main attraction. As I mentioned USC can almost be considered as a 33rd NFL team in my book. They are only a few plays away from having four national championships in this decade. The question I always have is who will be the #2 team in the Pac-10. Getting back to the initial question maybe people think the SEC is the top conference because it is more competitive. As for the Pac-10 usually it is USC at number one and everyone else looking up.

SEC is the best
I can echo what many of the other SEC guys said but I will try to take it a step further. First the SEC is the only conference that posess teams with fast physical play. Every game is a rivalry game which has real hate involved. The SEC also win their out of conference games including bowl games. In the Pac 10 the only team that competes for National championships is USC and thats it. The Big Ten has Ohio State and Michigan and Mich can't even beat a d 2 school. Ohio st. get outplayed in the BCS every year and lets not talk about the Big 12 and the Sooners. While each conference has one maybe two contenders the SEC every year may have 3 to 4 contenders for the title.

I have to say...
...that I'm a Big 10 guy who LOVES the Maize & Blue. I've been a Wolverine fan for almost 40 years. Having said that I must agree that right now, from top to bottom the SEC is the most exciting conference in the country. Those rivalries down there are blood thirsty. Their style of play is speed & power on both sides of the ball. USC is one of the few schools that can beat the SEC on a regular basis...and that's because (as Coach J said) they're pretty much a pro team. Outside of UM, watching a Big 10 game is boring!
My heart goes to UM but the SEC rules!

Bumping this up.......
.....I remember seeing this post a while back but never responded. I have this to say on this subject as you can see the WEAK Pac-10 has went 5-0 in the post season and has the won the trophy and bragging rights for the best conf in Post Season. The SEC is a ? We will never know how good they are until they start playing some teams and showing that they deserve to be called the best conference. All I have to say is the Pac-10 and Utah have showed the rest of the nation that the West is a force and always has been. I played in the Pac-10 and I know what talent comes from California. Let's see how many teams want to play SC and Utah next year from the SEC. Like it was mentioned in this thread Pete has called out the SEC and no-one wanted to play them but Auburn and Arkansas and look what happened to them.
You would think the likes of Florida, Alabama and LSU would take that game to silence the critics. However they know that the votes in the polls come from the East and it is in favor of them so why risk a game like that to put you out of National title hopes. Go figure!!
