Default Eric & Dave's Open Run

Eric and Dave put on a classic tournament! One of the best that I have ever been associated with! It was truly a pleasure to fellowship with these guys. They also have a great bunch of guys supporting what they do! Shabby J is an assume dude, NedFlanders (Coach Ebby) what a guy, Mike T - you better start respecting his game, he 's one of the greats for sure! Cleon Tate, Rey and all the other guys were outstanding to be around! I'm going to be attending this tournament for years to come. I'm going to post a more in depth message on this tournament and my experience shortly!

Default Mark it down !!

My vote for preseason number one. Mike Robertson's Texas Longhorns.
Good work. He's definitely the favorite in the CBSMF.

Mike has definately got GAME! It ain't just hype, this cat can play! He's a thinker, strategist, tweaker, passer...he has the full package. Man, it was a pleasure getting on a board with both you and Reg.

You are a true champion!

Default a real class act...

Mike, although i didn't get the chance to play you (or reggie ) i have to say ... from watching you over the weekend and in the championship game, you are a real class act. you never once belittled or looked down at us newer players, in fact you took time out to help us, and through it all you were cool as the backside of the pillow, even when the heat got turned up , you remained calm and stuck to the plan.
As this was my first tournament i ever played in it was a real treat and honer to have yourself and reggie both there to watch and learn from as both of you really are giving of your time without question or feeling the need to keep a secret. believe me...that says alot !

my son who was there(working on his titans) got to meet reggie and i dont know what was said, but those titans he has been working on for months now are almost done and he wants to know when i can get his bases so he can tweek em up he finally got that fire back he once had and is really looking forward to playing and now is talking about joining the CBSMF!

So again, Congradulations on your championship, and thanks for showing how to win like a gentlemen!
Rick Garrison, ECU Pirates.

Congrats to Mike Robertson for his victory. I took my opportunity at playing him to be more of a learning experience then a game and Mike graciously helped me learn some of his offensive/defensive strategies. Reggie helped me out too. Reggie is a wonderful person and is always willing to share and help out. I can't tell you how uplifting that is. Mike was every bit as helpful and I came away the better for having met him. I was lucky early on when I got back into this hobby to have met Bill Porche and Rick Garrison. They have helped me plenty and are always assisting me to improve my game....so I have been fortunate in that regard. The same can be said for all the folks that showed up for the Open Run....fellowship at a high level and lots of gentlemanly competition....can't beat that.

I knew coming in that I wasn't gonna' beat the big guns and came out more to learn and enjoy than just to compete! I felt good about my tie against Michael Turner, the runner-up in the tournament, but knew he really wasn't showing much of his hand on day 1 as well. I only really was getting blown out by Reggie and Mike....so I don't feel too bad. Heck, 3 of the 6 players I faced on day 1 were in the final four, so I surely gained some experience playing them!!!! Now it is back to the drawing board...I learn quickly!

Sorry it took so long for me to let everyone know about the Open Run. A good time was had by all who attended and for me it was one of the best times I had playing this game. I can't remember laughing as much as I did and I learned more about the game in a single weekend than I have in the 30 plus years of playing. I hope to see more folks attend next year and I'm looking forward to the College football season and the chance to play for the title in Las Vegas. Reggie and MIke I will be in Texas in November to see my family so maybe while I'm there we can get a scrimmage in so I can come back to the LAEFL and "shock" the world!! Thanks to Coach Shabby J and the ECU Pirates coach Rick as it was my pleasure meeting you both and Coach Rick I want a rematch as I think I finally found a kicker!! It was nice meeting all the coaches who attended and I hope you all have a great off season as the Men of Troy will be gunning for ya!! Congrats to Michael Robertson the Open Run Champion.

Much respect to all

Default cleon "rastaman".....

It would be alot of fun to play you again anytime. I really enjoyed our game and if you did find that kicker you needed then i guess i will have to be more carfull when we play next and try to just keep ya at least 35 yards away from the endzone..lol

Default Congrads!

Congratulations Michael on another championship victory!

I just wish that more coaches had an opportunity to witness your skill-set.... Impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, congratulations to all participants. Sounds like you guys had fun and enjoyed each others company. Now, that's real EF/MF for ya!

Mr. Turner,

Why is it that you lose to everyone else, but you always win against me? Hmmm!

What fun, I have been thinking about the Championship game all week while at work. There was like 15 people jammed around that field and you would think you were watching a "real" game, it was that exciting!!!!

This style of MF is about as good as it gets, if you think you are enjoying MF, once you play Shootout style ball you will not believe how much more fun can be had.

Mike Robertson is one of the best coaches I have ever played and or have seen play. As Dave mentioned, he has it all and he makes it work together, no wonder he has such a great MF record.

Mike Turner, this guy is one TOUGH MFer, he put in some work on Sunday!!!
He is a great passer and excellent all around coach.

I learned a lot just by watching these guys go at it together.

Rastahaze, we did not get to crack any plastic, but we definitely need to, I so enjoyed meeting and spending time with you, thanks for helping Ray and I with the rules while you were ref at our game.

Reg, what can I say...........the 308 was humming all weekend long and that baby was cooking, throw off the switch and watch your player glide another three inches!!! HOT, HOT!!!

To all the guys I see and talk to on a regular basis , it was always good to get together again. I find myself back in the lab this weekend working on some stuff I saw that I did not like on my squad. CBSMF is not far off!
