A Major Problem In Our Hobby That Needs To Be Corrected

Here is the letter I have composed.
Please make any suggestions, additions and or corrections. Keep in mind that we do not want to make this too long yet still catch their attention. Let me know your thoughts and what else may need to be included. This is YOUR (MFCA Member) letter so lets make sure it says what it needs to say.

Dear Boomer, Chris and the ESPN Countdown Crew,
On November 23, Boomer and Chris made reference to the game of electric football and how they loved it as kids. We want you to know that the game you loved as kids has grown into more than a fun packed strategy game but a fully fledged hobby with leagues, tournaments, championship rings, conventions, scale stadiums, a full color magazine, the Miniature Football Coaches Association (MFCA) and custom fully detailed players just like the ones included in this package. What was once a crazy erratic kid’s game has been taken by those same kids, in adult form, to new level! Speed, strength, strategy and a wide array of skills rivaling the big leagues, only at a miniature level, are now part of the game. No more do the one inch tall players on the real “gridiron” (our field is made from steel) make endless circles or perform without direction or specific purpose. The rules and skills at “tweaking” the bases to perform in certain ways have turned this into one of the best and most exciting strategy games of all time. We, the members of the Miniature Football Coaches Association, want you to know that the game lives on and at a skill level, playability and detail that you may never have imagined possible!
Please accept the player figures we have sent you in thanks for the great job you do on the show and the joy and inspiration you provided us, as we watched you on the field. We have also included copies of our MFCA magazine, trading cards and a video produced by the Los Angeles Electric Football League which highlights the fun, camaraderie and excitement that makes up Miniature Electric Football.
Finally, we would invite you to check out our website at www.miniaturefootball.org and be sure to visit our forum where all the action is shown, discussed, smack talked and sometimes argued.
When you’re ready and when you are tough enough to handle playing on steel (J), the MFCA Coaches challenge you to some high intensity competition, on the electric gridiron. Don’t worry, we will go easy on you and maybe even give you some pointers on passing and blocking strategy.

Here's my contribution, LB Tom Jackson. Inspired by a LB made for me by Frank Jacobs. He's a BB and RR combo. I too had no Denver decals so I wen't old school on the helmets and pants' stripes. I will get Mr. Jackson mailed shortly.

Well, the good news is, I finished the Keyshawn figure and got pictures of it for the board and my portfolio.

The bad news is he got more wobbly on his ankle the more I painted him, and when I set him up for packaging, it finally broke.

I can do a copy on a Buzzball receiver (I think I have one lying around). I can also try and Frankenstein a receiver pose tonight and get something out tomorrow.

But as it is, we have a beautiful figure with no stand.

First off, I would like to give props to all who have and will make contributions on this effort. I overstand how valuable ones time can be, and to make sacrifices of writing letters, organizing, and painting is exceptional. I think that if you're going to do something...then you should do it right. You can...and only will hurt the efforts of getting positive attention for the hobby by doing things in a non professionsal manner. I can sit here and be quiet, but I will not. I owe it to my fellow MFCA members to speak up...so I will. No disrespect to Treks 1, kudos to you for putting your best foot forward on creating a Custom Tom Jackson figure, but you gotta step up your game. That is not acceptable for television. If you send something to a TV station, it should be perfect, or as close as you can get to perfect. Always be prepared for the worst. We often complain about the hobby being represented in a negative light...so you have to think before you submit items to a media outlet to be possibly shown on TV. What if they decide to make fun of the figure. After reading the letter on how much the game has changed, then receiving a less than perfect figure...how wide of a spectrum do you think the joke range would reach regarding our beloved hobby. Don't take this personal...appreciate the fact that one of your EF brothers is willing to speak up, rather than go behind your back. This is not just addressed to one coach, the same applies to everyone involved in this venture.

I respect everyone's opinion on this board. Anyone can submit a figure for this project. I would think there was still time for your submission or anyone else who would like to push this effort.

I think "fully fledged" should be full-fledged, but I'm not sure.
