Default QUESTION FOR ALL BOARD MAKERS "IS THIS POSSIBLE"

ALL OF YOU CREATIVE ARTIST,

It is some coaches desire to own bigger boards than what they already have. Whether is be a WATTS BOARD, A 308 BOARD, AND A JERRY MGEE SCALE SIZE BOARD. This may be a stupid question but can these boards be made into TWO and THREE removable/adjustable sections. Also with perhap's a lighter wood or hard plastic. THIS IS ALL FOR STORAGE CONVIENCE, TRAVEL CONVIENCE, AND GAMEPLAY OPTIONS.

For example you lay all three sections down on a table and connect the trips via some sort of locking system. Also cut the sheet metal or wood into section also so when it is laid flat on to the base it all lies perfectly even.
THEN YOU JUST LAY DOWN THE FIELD COVER OVER THE METAL OR WOOD.
All of this can be seperated and packed up at the end of a game. Trying to travel with a scale size board may be impossible for many but this can be an option.

What if you had a 308 board like i do and seperated it, add a middle piece to extend it and you have a scale size. LIKE I SAY A MILLION TIMES, I CAN'T MAKE ANYTHING BUT IS THIS IN THE REALM OF POSSIBILTY.

i think all of these emotions are a good response -

are you crazy?

maybe you are, and thats what makes this genius.

nah, this cant be done, or can it?

hmmmmmmm.

i'll get my popcorn and see this come to fruition.

aaahhh, "they are all gonna laugh at you".

Let em laugh, cause what if this could really be done.

HOORAY FOR THE QUESTION AND IDEA. I FOR ONE, WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS AND WOULD BUY A BOARD LIKE THIS.

I like the idea, I am thinking of a lot of things in my head now as I type. A true to scale board made from three modular sections that can be fit together. I can see it possibly working, of course this would actually take some figuring out and some hands on trial and error in the garage or workshop, but I believe it could be done.

Each of the three sections had it's own motor, when assembled the sheet metal is covered with a one piece field cover to "tie" the three sections together for the purposes of allowing even vibration and to assure a smooth gapless transition between the three sections.

Just rambling as I type, I do believe it is possible.

As they say...

it can be done.
items exist that would make this idea possible. it would require thinking beyond metal and wooden fields, and most importantly, it would require a LOT of money $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. these kinds of materials ain't cheap, folks.

Yes, ideally going beyond wood and metal would be perfect, it could be accomplished for sure going that route, but I truly think it could be done and done nicely in wood and metal.

The wheels are turning now.

Default Well

I have doubts. Can it be done ? Yes. Will it be performant ? I hesitate. It is easier to have an even vibration on the whole field when it is made of one piece.

That's kind of why I was thinking a nice one piece magnetic field cover to go over all three modular sections to help with evening out the vibrations and tying the three sections together that way.

Then you have to store about the same sized field cover as the field as far as length and width.

Thumbs up "Think it through"

You could connect the sections via hinges underneath so it would fold back on itself, that would also insure the sections come together evenly also giving u storage inside like a chess board. There could be dowls on both sides like a table section.if folded in half each side would have its own motor much like the setup im currently using.overall size has always been one of my sticking points, portability is at the top of the list. the more I run this through the brain stem the more it make sense. Hit me up if its possible were going to find out.

Not a problem, most people can store a scale sized field cover with no trouble.
