Default All your own work?

Since my son and I have gotten into the game we are using only bases that we tweak and only figures that we paint and Miggle pre-painted figures in our house league. I do see that many guys are willing to pay some serious $$$ for tweaked bases and to have teams painted for them. In fact I am painting up two teams for league mates at this time. Please chime in on the attached pole.

Good stuff Artlax, I for one tweak, paint and decal my own stuff.

A true EF head (using E Rob's verbage) does this!

Maybe I can see someone not painting as well as they like and they want a show stopper of a team, somewhat understandable, but you better buy that super detailed team and all the while use it as motiviation and inspiration to improve your own skill set.

Well, I should stop here. Good poll.

I voted for #1...I don't know how good I'll be at it all, but I'm going to at least make the attempts.

Default Teams

As I now have the skill set to paint, decal and tweak my own bases, I am pretty much self sufficient. I , like others, had to buy other peoples work to learn and set my own goals. As I usually do about 60 figures per team, I takes me about 2-3 months to complete each team and enter them into my league.
Many thanks to Beenutt, Mike Beal, Reggie Rutledge & George Diamond. Without you guys, I would not have the tools to do the job. Also many thanks to Mike Guttman and Michigan Joe for their inspiration and for setting the standard that I have tried to make.
I will eventually have all 32 teams and several throw-back squads when all is done. I currently have about 10 teams and are working on a Ravens squad.
I will be bringing all of my teams to Miggle. See you all there!

I do all of my own work. I paint and tweak all of my teams. I would decal them, but I refurbish my teams after they have served their purpose.

I used to paint all my own teams, but now I'm subletting all the work to a Martian sweat-shop that's just outside the Argyre Basin region. They don't take cash, so I pay them in spent atomic rods that I pick up from nearby nuclear power plants. Can you believe that the fools give those things away for free???? All I have to do is pay for shipping to Mars.

My "I do all my own work" answer has an asterisk beside it..

If not for an order of strong bases from Norbert back in 2006.. I would never have tried so many various methods of tweaking.. desperately trying to tweak something that would .. at least come close.

Default Both!

I got back into the game and got a Francis Steeler team to have as a base to add to(IMO he is one of the best at his craft).I can customize my own players.Tweaking is not something I am good at yet so I go outside--norbert,gforce.I play MPFL style so tweaking is not as big a deal, but I am sure I will play other styles down the road--"When in Rome".I also am starting a league at my school that will start out very basic to introduce this great game to them. That is one of the great things about this hobby is people helping people.Keep it up.hope to post some of my Steel Town Tough Boys soon.--Take care STT
