Question Miggle 67 big men vs. Haiti Repro

Do the current Miggle 67 bigmen weigh more per "pose" than Haiti Repro's in same pose unpainted and if so how much?

Trying to build a team for 3.5 league, however, no weight can be added...

LMK...

Thanks in advance,

Joeram57

Default There is more to it, .....

than that, .............at 3.5 they both will make weight, the repro 67 bigmen, which are actually bigger and heavier than the original big men.

To get around the weight added issue, I have seen many, many guys gob on the paint and clear coat to get them up to weight.

The fairest way is to weigh the figure and base separately, because a heavier figure on a rookie base will make weight, but, .............as I have seen many times, a switch-a-roo happens and the heavier figure makes it way on to a TTC base which by rule would be over the 3.5 limit.......... yes, ........some try to skirt the rules.....

Default WOW !!!!!

Not sure what to say about the "skirting" the rules, however, no one can lie to themselves. I'm fairly good at filtering out that type of behavior by others and not let it get to me.

I would behavior like that wold be the exception, not the rule.

In any event, I still maintain a positive attitude and look forward to joining the DSEFL college league and then hopefully the Pro thereafter.

I have been contacted by many coaches locally and across the nation whom have been very helpful and are quite friendly. After a couple of phone calls I already feel like I have made new friends as well as w/the coaches here in DSEFL.

Thanks for the info on the Haiti repro's. I didn't know that were considered 67 bigmen. In my ignorance I thought they were smaller and lighter, however, it looks like my team will consist of Haiti repro's, your buzzball figures, perhaps a few FF.NET figures that make weight and even some Miggle/Tudor smaller fig's for speed, although the smaller may just get knocked over...remains to seen.

The "learning" process is simply a lot of fun for me.

BTW, you should have an order for some base's and passing stick's from me by tomorrow and I look forward to doing my best to do ya proud and get some speed going.

Thanks again,

Joeram57

Default Haiti Repro VS Haiti Repro 67 bigmen

I'm confused

The Haiti repro's I have, bought off ebay are smaller and weigh less then the CURRENT unpainted Miggle 67 bigmen...

Are there bigger/heavier Haiti repro's on the market?

I didn't think any Haiti figures, repro or not were bigmen, thought they were just, well, made in Haiti and more detailed...

Thanks,

Joe Ram

'67 Big Men are the largest and heaviest version of the original 'fab 5' style figures. Haiti's & Haiti Repro's are slightly smaller and lighter. China figures (miggle) are the smallest and lightest of this genre. There were also the Hoglegs, Chicken legs as well as the '80's figures with solid platforms and Chicken legs with offset holes in the stands. Kinda confusing huh.

Default I just had to ask

Are you looking to add weight or performance? The reason that I'm asking is because In my experience and this is just my experience the 67 bigmen (miggle) don't perform as well as the current haiti repro nor the previous big men. They aren't as balanced. Are you looking to have your figures play better or be heavier?

Default Jamel

Originally was strictly weight I "thought" I needed...I now know about the balance issue and have altered some Miggle bigs and also have some Haiti Repro's and BB, and FF and will have to just continue to "work" in training camp, play the league, observe the results and learn...

I can see there is a lot to it, and sometimes lighter and more balance can beat heavier...stronger, faster bases, etc, etc obviously play in as well...

My mind is open an open book, just takin it ALL in

Thx man,

Joe Ram

Default Yes

I agree with Jamel. You want to reposition the big men to get better performance.I prefer the Haiti repros myself.
