Who Has Arena Setups?
I gotta take a poll to determine what the best sized field for ARENA is. Before Saturday's game with Matt, I thought the 620 was too big to get the right amount of scoring. So I beefed-up our guys to 4.0 grams and turned up the juice so that the guys literally flew downfield. Those 2 "tweaks" seemed to do the trick being that we score 71 points! So now I'm double-guessing myself.
I know Lew in Denver has the Model 500 setup. And RM, Ron C., Chris LeMay and myself have 620 setups. I think Kansas Bill has the 500 also. Chime in and vote so that we can unify this up and coming genre of MF!!! Or should we let the "home" team decide? |

Jimbo,
I use a 500 as well. Once I saw Lew's site it could only be the 500 for me. I like the treaks that you did to up the score. Wally |

Jimbo forgive me but what is the 500 board? if it is the Super Bowl sized board then that is what I use. Still don't have nets or field cover yet but I am working on it.

Nch
The Model 500 is 13" X 24". It is the smallest board ever produced I believe. While scrimmaging a lil bit on that board, I realized that when guys hit the wall (only 1/8" tall) they fly over just like in real life!!! I'm really leaning toward this board myself. I'll see once I get a cover slapped on it and play a few rounds.

Yep.. I like the 500 field the best for Arena Style Football.. But I've got Arena spec goalposts for the 500, Superbowl field, and the 620..
What I haven't found yet is the best setup for the sideline pads.. I have only used the foam with a thin vinyl film on both sides.. (Hobby Lobby stuff).. OH.. I do have goalposts for all 3 of these fields for sale on the www.TornadoAlleyEFS.com website |

I haven't played a single down of Arena MF but my sons 500 field is setting on the counter and it just seems like it would be perfect for this. So going off of the someday I'm going to try this theory I vote for the 500. Finally a great use for the 3 old 500 boards that have been setting in the basement for years.

Picture from Wichita, Kansas (Barry Sanders' hometown):)
This is Bill's electric indoor football set-up, using a model 500 field. It is the perfect size for a 50-yard arena field. I have a model 520, which is comparable, but I think even a little smaller. A field cover to fit over it with all the correct yard lines would be awesome, but that'll have to wait.
Lynn, I didn't know you had that many small gameboards. If you'd be interested in selling one, I'd be interested in giving it a good home. Last edited by OU fan : 04-10-2007 at 02:36 PM. |

The Vote is IN
I will OFFICIALLY name the Model 500 the OFFICIAL Miniature ARENA Football field...again!
Now that that is settled, lemme see your teams! Show me your fields, your teams, your arenas, your nets! You've already seen mine. |
