Default Cleaner players

I am having trouble painting clean players with my apple barrel paints. Especially custom players. Here are a couple of pictures of some guys i painted up recently, they aren't completely done though. I have to untouched poses in my basement and they look really clean with the paint job. These guys look terrible, or at least they aren't at par of what I would like. I usually either paint right out of the bottle with a small brush, or squeeze a little out of the bottle and then I put delta ceramcoat acrylic thinner in and I stir. This still isn't working. Can anyone tell me what they do to prepare their paint and players so I can get better results? Also what can I do to improve my players?
Thanks, send a pm or just respond right here.
Taylor

Michael,

You may want to try just washing them with soap and water first, and then you may want to just spray paint them with white paint to act as a primer.

I started using Testors white. Use Enamel if you plan on using Enamel paints and use Acrylic if you're using Acrylic paints.

You can mix them.

Hobbytown has it, if there is one near you. I use testors, they have the best dullcoat. I also use the Triple Thick Gloss spray now. A lot easier to use than the brush on.

If you can't find the Dullcoat spray, let me know, I'll look for you.

Thumbs up Clean Players

Whats up Taylor I see u gettin busy hommie. First u need a smooth surface to paint on, u cant hide rough figs with paint. to do this youll need to take your exacto & remove seam lines from casting & any other spots that lend itself to the all mighty knife, careful dont remove your fingers in the process.next u want to take an emmoray board just like the one ladies use on them toes and smooth any rough areas.(pay attention to your tools most have a rough & smoother side use whats appropriate)be careful not to flatten tubular areas such as arms, legs, helmet ect... after you achieve the surface your looking for prime with FLAT WHITE spray paint (any will do) dusting lightly, all u want is to even out the surface color to eliminate any discolored areas such as burn areas from customizing or old paint. remember whats underneath always affects whats on top. hope that helps hommie good luck.

Default mix your paints

Looks like the paint could be mixed up better if it has lumps in it when goes on it will not spread good.
