Default 1988 San Francisco 49ers: One of the Greatest Teams of All time!

I love this team of 49ers. Joe Montana has to rank in my Top 5 favorite players of all time and Jerry Rice will be getting the max weight in my solitaire league. He was the best player at his position (IMO) and as such, he will get the gold base!

Roger Craig is one of the most underrated backs ever and I made him in this high stepping stance just out of respect for what he did in the game. Tom Rathman, another Husker, was one of the best fullbacks to play.

So, I dedicated a little time to building the figures and painting this offensive unit. The defensive unit will have many action poses, led by the great Charles Haley.

Amen on one of the greatest teams of all time. Roger Craig doesn't get enough credit IMHO.

Brent Jones was #84

Love this team and Yes, R.Craig does not get the credit he deserves. He was the model for what the West Coast Offense RB can be. His 1000 + 1000 set the standard.

Great poses. But you did very little to J.Taylor. He too does not get the credit for being the 2nd banana to Mr. Rice.

Default K-Lo, great points but here's the deal

John Frank was the starter on this 1988 team when the season began. Brent Jones started on the 89 team that went 3-0 in the playoffs and won the Super Bowl.

Don't underestimate that pose for John Taylor. That is the best wide receiver pose we offer. It is not only the fastest player but the best receiver pose getting off the line.

Guys that use our figures and know the poses well will tell you, pound-for-pound, this is the best player in the FF.Net family. I love John Taylor. You are absolutely correct. He was definitely underrated but trust me, I kept him this way because he will be able to get the tough possession yardage as well as go deep.

He should average more than 20 yards a catch if Joe can get him the ball. But yes, Brent Jones was not the starter in 88, but was getting the majority of snaps on pass plays but John Frank was the starter then.

Default All time favorites

The 88-89 49er teams were some of my all time favorites. Love the over the shoulder shot of Rice from behind. John Taylor would have been a #1 receiver anywhere else. As great as the offense was the "D" was just as great. It did not get the recognition during that time because of more "infamous" defenses around the league (Chicago, NYG, Philly, etc.) but it was certainly top notch. I plan on building this team soon. Thanks for the inspiration.
