I know, Al, thanks.

Actually i've got some decal paper for my printer too...but I was too lazy to print some stuff and to be honest...I like to use diferent options and "Mac Gyver style" tricks

To avoid "silvering" (seeing the decals borders) a cheap solution is to use Future, you dip the decal in then you pose it on the fig/slot car/whatever. It works pretty well too.

Default La fin est proche !

Hi,

Tonight I posed the front numbers, and made the helmet.

The helmet has been quite tuff to achieve : the 49ers logo is very difficult to do (about 3mm black and red ellipse, to write black and white "SF" in...), but the overall result is OK, especially at a normal distance of view, and comparing to bad printed decals.

I finished varnishing the helmet with gloss acrylic varnish. This week end, I'll add the shoulders numbers and names, then the face mask, and finally the base flock and final varnish...and the figure will be completed.

FOr the next figures of that team, I'll certainly keep the same technic, except for the big numbers (I'll order some white waterslide decals on ebay) and perhaps the helmet logos...we've got to be a little serious, I'll have to complete about 30-40 players

sorry for the pic quality, here it is 11pm.

to be continued!

Being a life long Rams fan, I have to say that figure is good enough to hate!

Default Almost completed

Hi,

THis afternoon I completed the figure painting and basing.

The base is flocked with saw dust, then hardened with PVA glue. After that, I painted it in green then dry brushed with some bright yellow.

I painted the shoulder numbers : tuff job. But I didn't painted the names, I tried but didn't achieve a good result. So I let it without name, and maybe one day I'll add the name in decal.

After that, I coated the figure with a mat varnish, excepting the helmet gloss varnished.

Last thing I do is glueing the facemask, and now the figure is drying. I made some pics in the sunshine, to make a little dramatic effect

I'll made better pics tomorrow once everything dried right. But I 'm pretty happy with the final result for my first football athlete ! Now...I have to make 30 more !

Default WOW It's Coming to Life

That figure is nice. It looks like you used the dry brush technique. Are you going to do an entire team? If so, I can't wait to see how they will turn out.

Thank you all !

Actually I didn't use drybrush, or to be exact only on the base turf. On the figure, I used washes and inks, and classic paint shades.

I 'll do an entire team, yes. My project is to create at least 22 figures, so now I have to paint 21 figures

but I don't think I'll do custom poses for each figure. I certainly just customize the "stars" and important game positions (like this O center).

I have to plan all that work, so I can paint the non-customized figures in groups to gain some time.

BTW, the next figure will certanly be the tight end Vernon Davis. The other linemen will not be customized, I think, so i'll be able to complete the O first line "quite" fast.

My team building will be that way :

center (custom) done
tight end (custom)
other linemen (certainly not custom)
WRs (custom)
qb (custom)
other posts (not custom)

then I'll do the same for defense.

EDIT : I checked all my FF.net figures, I alread have enough figs to complete a basic team (11def-11off) !
