Default FRENCH GAAAAAAAAMMMMMME DAAAYYYYYYYYY !!!!!!!!

HI Everybody,

I'm happy to announce one of the first european and french game day event of the History (maybe the first) , this Monday evening, November the 2nd !!!

I'm preparing to go to my brother home, to play my very first Electric football game

I'll make report with pics and (I hope) some vids too. I'm too excited to see the result of weeks of work to create the gameboard, build the teams, learn the tweaking basics.

Default Outstanding, one for the ages!

Dimitri,

try to keep stats on the side.....use a sheet of paper to record the results of each play. Don't spend too much time on formations, just play results like this:

1 - 5 yd run (#33)
2 - (-2 yds) run (#44)
3 - 15yd pass #8 to #80
4 - incomp
5 - 62 yd Run (#33) TD

when you are finished with your game, you can go back and relive the moments from the stat sheets, among other things.

Looking Forward to the action!!

K-LO

I 'll try to keep stats, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do that, since I don't know well the rules, and my bro doens't know it at all, I guess the first game will not be as "fast" as it might be.

So the first game will be a initiation game, sort of pre season game, in a way

But I'll make some pics and I hope a vid or two of decisive plays.

just a way to get the results of the plays on the field.

it does not matter what happens, just keep track of what happens...you will see some things that will make you yell - "THIS THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN, PLAYED, ETC."

And you will also see somethings that will make you say "SOC-LA-BLOOM" THIS GAME SUCKS......

Either way, we what to know what happen!

Default Just have fun

Dimitri,

Just have fun. Spend that time just having a good time with your brother. Be basic in your approach but spend that time just hanging out with your brother.

It will be great!

Default Game ended, Niners VS Packers : score 28-28

Hi,

Thank you all for the kind words

The first french game day is finished, I'll try to make a little report. First of all, we had a great time playing this game, and we learned a lot about it. I tried to kept track on the game too, to make that game report. I just noted the completed plays.

I believe my brother will involve himself a little more than simply make a game each week : I certainly will build him a game, so he can train his really poor kick return/receive game

Let's go for the game report :

Ruleset we used : MFCA beginner ruleset (68-69 tudor play sequence)

special rules : buzzball passing simulation, automatic extra point gain, no field goals attempts (simply because I didn't had any kicker and I forgot to bring at least dice to resolve it... :o )

no clock (simply because I do not have a timer for now...), 6 plays by quarter. But since we are newbies, the 2 first quarters took us 4:30 hours (yes, you read it right), so we finished the game on half time, at 1:00 am. So we can say that we play a 2 halftimes game.

kick return : receiving offense player on his own 10yards, his team spread and cover his run in their own 30 yards, kicking team on their own 40yards. (actually, I didn't learned the kicking rules so we used that scheme for this game).

I played the Niners (of course), and my brother played the Packers. 11 "iron squad" players by team (with a special extra player to replace the static QB). static QB (on base with prongs cutted, but not a sticky base).

COIN TOSS : Niners, choose to receive.

FIRST HALFTIME :

My brother kicking coverage is really awfull so the niners made a 80yards return on the kick return. The touche down line was close, but the ball carrier (sorry, I don't know his name in these special team).

Then, first and goal attempt.Choosing a strong dive running game, my half back make the touchdown on first down ! The extra point is good.

the score, after only 2 board On cuts, is 7-0 for the Niners. I become more confident, and my Bro take a drink

Then, Packers on offense. After the kick, My defense blocks the packer returner for a gain of 20 yards. So the Packers start their offense play on their own 30yards. I'm becoming confident...too confident in my play.

The Packers offense, not too good in running play, use the play developing and my failure to pressure his QB to open receivers for pass, and find success in that strategy : Packers scores a TD on a 25yards pass for a WR, on 3rd and 10 down. (sorry I didn't noted the yards gain after the pass completion). The extra point is good.

Even if the Niners defense was less awfull than the Packers' one, the fact Niners were'nt unable to put pressure on the Packers QB allowed him to devellop the play and find receivers. Score : 7- 7

Now the Niners take the offense side. After a kick return of 50 yards, they score again on first down, passing play on the tight end in short range, behind the first line of defense, allowing him for a nice 40yards run to TD. Extra point is good.

Score : 14-7 for the Niners.
The packers defense will have to find a new job tomorrow.

On kick return, the Packers offense make the poorest return of the game, and start their first down on their own 20yards. After a first attempt on running play, blocked by a good defense for RB tackling, the Packers return to the fundamentals and try to capatilize on the Niners defense pressure weakness.

Once again, the Niners are unable to blitz the Packers QB, who's got plenty of time to find a receiver. On the 2nd and 10n he find a open wide receiver and goes for a bomb pass of 35 yards, and take advantage of the poor Niners coverage to go for TD for a 45yards run.

Score : 14-14, end of first haltime.

SECOND HALFTIME (since we didn't plan to play only 2 quarters, we continue the normal turnovers).

Again, the niners on the kick return runs for a massive 80 yards run. Then, offense make quite the same play we saw in first haltime : a running play to TD on first down and goal. EXtra point is good. The offense Niners show their superiority on the field.

Score : 21-14 for the Niners

The next play is more difficult for the packers. They make a decent return on kick to their own 40yards. Then, the Niners defense team try to fix the problems saw in the first halftime. But once again, they fail to put in danger the Packers QB, who completes passes and gain yards and yards, on 2nd or 3rd attemps. The Niners defense can't find solutions, even if sometimes sacks are closed.
The Packers finally score on short pass for a wide receiver (sorry I didn't noted the yards this time). Extra point is good.

SCORE : 21-21

The Packers defense starts to wake up, and make good play. They slow down the Niners, enough to force them a passing play on 4th and 10 attempt. The niners complete the pass, and score. Extra point is good.

SCORE : 28-21 for the Niners

Finally the Packers offense, on a last desperate play, achieve to gain enough yards to reach the Niners' 30 yards. The Niners defense are under pressure but have success, forcing the Packers offense to loose yards.

But on the last Packers play, the QB magic appears again : on a 4th and 14 he finds a open wide receiver in the Niners endzone, and scores the TD on a 30yards pass. Extra point is good (I know...they should have try the 2extra points, but since we couldn't kick... )

END SCORE : 28-28
