Interesting
Good Post Scott.......
I would like some info from some Coaches that play other styles....other than Shootout......Reg made some valid points....and having played him this past year I can speak from experience that most of his game planning worked very well but I am not a seasoned Coach in this style of play yet....... I would like to hear from the likes of Tom Johnson, Lomax....Baxter....Oldschool, Norbert, Ruesnik, Hardmon...Beenutt, Perry Burke, Celo..Greco.... Robertson gave a synapsis when he came to NY...which opened my mind/eyes to see this game we play just like in real football.... when i am focused .... What goes thru your minds pre-snap.....during play setup.....?

defense play call that did not work
as you look at the two pictures, you can see where the defense was trying to pressure the QB from the outside, but took bad arcs and missed the QB and allowed a WR (not in picture 1) to come open with a passing lane.

here is another one
in the formation below, the offense was testing the inside defense with the Dive play by #27 but also threatening the outside withthe bootleg by the QB
Based on the defense, I would keep the ball with the QB because there is no outside containment by the defense and I can pickup some positive yds out there. |
