Knowing John its probably beer! IRON CITY BABY! That would make a great fantasy team. The Iron City Bruise! lol I hope people det it. Iron City is a Pittsburgh beer so instead of Brews it would be Bruise.

Basically, sawy dust IS modelling flock. You can vary the size of it. You can also use other stuff like mixed cork

You can also stain it with diluted acrylic paint, or acrilyc ink. Or paint it. personaly on that type of figures, I prefer to paint it, like you do too.
