Default MFCA podcast on itunes????

Iron Eagle was trying to explain it to me during the convention. Hey Sean, you have the floor my brother...enlighten me and the forum on your idea.

It sounded very interesting.

I envision it as a a national talk show where we discuss the latest developments in EF with members around the nation. With Skype (a free program) we can do everything over the internet for interviews. Think of it as an electronic audio version of the Tweak. It would be far more current (we could have a show ready in a week or less) and it would cost far less to produce than the paper version. After some initial set up, (head set and mike) it really wouldn't cost anything but someone's time.

Podcasts and blogs are the future. We are doing blogs which are good, but we really neeed to do more to drive people to our website. Podcasts would help that if we can get them in the I-tunes store and in the Zune Marketplace. Imagine if we were podcasting from Miggle. We could have been transmitting news almost instantly to our membership at home.

Also I can see us eventually doing a video Podcast for major events like Miggle or Buzzfest. We can actually video podcast from the day of the event and post the feed on our website that same night, so our members who aren't there can see and hear the fun.

I actually setup an account for the MFCA when I put up the new front end. Anyone that wants to broadcast can get the pass codes from me. We can set schedules etc.. and it will broadcast right from the MFCA site. Here is the direct link.

Default Need just alittle help with this, it sounds great.

For the technological dumb, where i am the president of that club, can you guys further explain what this is and how this works?

I have ofcourse heard this many times, but now that it may directly effect me, i ask, what exactly is a pod cast?

How does a pod cast work?

How can we, at home, use this?

A podcast is basically an audio file (or a video file in case of videocast) you can download and read with your mp3 player (like an Ipod, for example...it's why we speak about podcast).

These files are often available by RSS flux (what is an RSS flux ? it's quite the same as a newsletter with richmedia content (audio, video, text)) you can suscribe, then you receive the news in a RSS player or modern email client (what is an email client ? well... )).

podcast file content : often similar to a radio show (or tv show) content. Then, you can listen it on your computer, or your mp3 player. Since modern mp3 players are also video players, the podcasting is evolving to video these days.

In one word, podcast is a recorded media content you can download. It's diferent than live streaming where you can see or heard in direct live some media content (ustream, web radios, etc...).

Default Dave Hydell....

was supposed to be doing something like this. I talked with him a few years ago. He told me that was where he was heading, ........... I think he is also set up to do this. Maybe life got in the way, like it has a habit of doing, but, I do remember that he told me he was working on podcasts. Maybe he can assist as well.
