I understand what you are sayin, man. I too agree with you on this, but as you can see I and many others also tend to play unconventional D. If the rules cause for you to play a conventional D, then play conventional. If the rule set allows for the D to be unconventional then take advantage of that flexibilty. All in all, Reg hit the nail on the head when he wrote:
"Don't restrict the game by your play. Restrict the other team by your ability to play and execute. If you execute efficiently, the other team will be trying to create rules to handicap your team's ability".
Please listen to the advice that some of these coaches have provided. The advice provided by coaches like FrustratedFinFan, Jimbo and a few others are right on point. You don't have to like it or agree with it, just adjust to it.
