Cowboys and 49ers: Painting to Play
Wow, what a classic matchup this will be! The 1988 SF 49ers versus the 1977 Cowboys. I am still torn about the Cowboys because I think the 1992-93 version was the best team. However, I chose this one because I saw Scott Hooper's painted ones and I liked the old school uniform.
However, if anyone want these, I would not be too beholding to them before I start Saturday. Anyways, attached are some photos of the two teams as I have begun to paint them. I finish the 40 team Niners in 2 days. It was exhausting (just needing something to keep my mind occupied). The Cowboys I had did the 22 men some time later but now need to add about 13 players. The Niners superstars will center around Jerry Rice and Roger Craig on offense and Charles Haley on defense. Mike Carter may be strong but not world class. Rice will weigh about 6.5, Craig 6.0, and Haley about 6.2. Everything else will weigh around 4.0 grams. The SF 49ers are a well-balanced team which does not thrive in the star system. They play so great together and I want to try to duplicate that. The Cowboys will have a dominating defensive line, averaging about 5.5 grams per player. R. White will be a monster as well as Ed Jones and Harvey Martin. Jethro Pugh at this stage was declining so he will weigh less than 4.0 grams. The linebackers will have Hollywood who will weigh 4.5-5.0 grams with great speed. Offensively, Dorsett will weigh in the 6.0 range. D. Pearson will weigh about 5.0 grams and the O-line will weigh about 5.0 grams. This will be an interesting matchup. I will create a DVD of this game as it will be an enjoyable game for me. |
