#8-PITTSBURGH STEELERS at #5 NEW YORK JETS

The Pittsburgh Steelers rallied from 10 points down in the final 6 minutes to defeat the New York Jets 28-24 in the first of 2 AFC Wildcard Games.

Quick Recap

Jets took 1st quarter lead after big opening kickoff return by Bruce Harper. Nick Lowrey kicked a 28 yd FG. Jets 3 Steelers 0.

Terry Bradshaw hits John Stallworth for a 21 YD TD. Steelers lead 10-7 at the half.

Mid 3rd quarter Steelers stop Jets on 3rd down but penalized for 12 men on the field. Jets continue drive and Namath hits Freeman McNeil for a 62 YD TD. Jets lead 10-7 after the 3rd Quarter.

Franco Harris scores on a 23 yd run to open 4th quarter Steelers lead 17-14.
Namath comes right back and hits Maynard for a 62 YD TD. Jets 17 Steelers 14. Steelers then go 3 and out. Bruce Harper returns punt 80 yards for TD. Jets 24 Steelers 14 with 6:42 left. Bradshaw hits Franco Harris out of backfield for a 60 YD TD. Jets 24 Steelers 21 3:12 left. Polamalu intercepts Namath at Jets 41 at 2:00 warning. Bradshaw runs 23 yds for TD on 3rd down play with no time outs left with :28 left. Namath’s final pass falls incomplete. Steelers win 28-24.
