In the BMEFA, we use a bit of a different version of the fumble man rule based on what I first saw used in the TBA several years ago. Each team designates their FM before the game. If that player makes a solo tackle, a coin is flipped. Heads=fumble; tails=no fumble. If there's a fumble, the defensive coach then calls a second flip in the air and id correct, possession switches there and that's that. There is no fumble return since, by definition, the player recovering is already "down" by the touch of an opposing team's base.
