i was a newbie 3 yrs ago.....
so i can help you, but understand, i am not saying nothing. it may seem that way but.................
as jimbo said, its on you to find the answers. every question has been answered. now why cant we answer? because its more than just 1,2,3. This "game" (another can of worms? trying to keep it simple ) is similar to Monopoly in that everyone has their own style of playing, their own set of rules. same basic principle, but different ways of playing. in order to get an understanding of how everyone plays, stay on this board for a few days and read. find threads started by Anthony Burgess, he is always talking about his style. its like doing a webquest, just Miniature Football style. but the best advice - find cats in your area, go to a game or just hook up with them. i have found guys in this hobby to be more than willing to show and tell their rules, and often, even their secrets. i went to a Buzzball tourney 3yrs ago and learned all about pass placement sticks, customizing figures and an intro to this thing called "tweaking bases". all of these strangers were very friendly and open to showing me things. i left the weekend a stranger no more. i can go on and on with these face to face tutorials. you gotta do a little reading on this board, get to just one outing, and everything will fall into place. and remember, its not just a game anymore. all of us were kids playing this and painting figs with moms fingernail polish. we are all adults now. mature in our growth and minds. experienced in many different things. we have taken this game to a whole new level. guys dont have to depend on just the Tudor company to come out with products. nor miggle anymore. MANY guys are making there own stuff now and many of us support them because what they have is good stuff. it crazy. the things a grown man can think of. hang in there, be patient. it will all come together. and one last thing, no one is getting rich off this stuff. Most of the people who sell things are doing more so to promote the hobby, not to make money off of it. but just the fact that you have gotten so much attention shows that guys will help you out with no problem. but you gotta read alittle more, then comeback with more specific questions. no one will leave you out there. scott |
