What Is A TTQB Worth?
After reading Geno's thread about his great new invention - the TDQ - and the questionable comments by a certain "other" I decided to do some quick research to bring light to the topic of Passing in MF and put the cost of a QB" into perspective.
The new Miggle TTQBs costs $3 for 2 and they would probably last thru the weekend before they both broke at the ankle. I searched ebay for the older "big head" TTQBs and found 3 or 4 games ranging in price from $66 - $160 that would include 1 or 2 of these coveted passers, but you would have to buy the entire setup just to get the TTQBs. I couldn't even find any of the Superbowl games offered in the 80s that had the premo yellow TTQBs, but if my memory serves me correctly, we'd be looking at about $50-$75 to get 2 of those QBs with the game. I have personally acquired a few TTQBs along my EF/MF travels and I still have the white "bighead" that Frank or Edgar gave me when I first met them back in '96/'97. That was my 1st time seeing the TTQB in action and after a quick 5-10 minute tutorial, they gave me one and I still have that rocket launcher. I have since learned that you can't throw a fastball on every pass, so I've had to find other TTQBs that can accurately lob pass or throw a last-play-of-game curveball around a defender's head!!! The older yellow TTQBs do this very well. They also make the best Kickers, which is a PREMIUM in my mini-ARENA Football League!!! Sure, anybody knows that QBs have to throw different types of passes and I use 2 different TTQBs to accomplish this. Problem is, if these 2 go down, what do I do then? Shell out $100 to buy a 620 that I don't need because I build my own bigboards? Buy $100 worth of Miggle's recycled to the nth degree TTQBs that will all break by season's end? Scrounge around the country and beg other Coaches to spare one of their coveted TTQBs and pay upwards to $20-$25 for one? Now, doesn't $15 for a new, be-all-end-all innovation to the SPORT sound like the logical choice? I knew you'd understand. Peace. Oh, PS, You could use the "stix" and give the Defense a chance for the ball. Last edited by JIMBO : 03-28-2008 at 01:25 PM. |
