The TDQ Quarterback: The Shootout v. The DFW League
My friend Kevin Boddie told me to bring this to the forefront as far as the TDQ Quarterback is concerned. While I am always quick to embrace new ideas and innovations in the game, I am not sure what the DFW League will do as far as Geno's TDQ Quarterback is concerned.
While I am just the messenger, I know guys who have spent 13 years defining and improving their skills with the Triple Threat QB and take great pride in making difficult throws with the QB, I can imagine when the voting regarding the new TDQ may meet with much resistance. Maybe not but I know many of the things that I have tried bringing into the league has always been met with great resistance so I expect no less on this QB. Now, they may surprise me? But if you are coming to the DFW League, be prepared to throw with the Triple Threat QB. Just knowing the guys the way I do, they will probably feel that if they can throw with the TTQB, you should be able to. That is a skill we all would have to master on an equal playing field. As far as the Shootout, that is a separate entity altogether. Unlike the DFW philosophy, my goal is to encourage all people to come to the Shootout. If some people felt that they could not compete in the past because they had psychological issues using the TTQB, you can use this TDQ if it gives you a comfort level. So come and use it. I just want to see you come and be a part of the event. The rules of the Shootout are governed by what is stated in the updated version. The updated version will have the TDQ as an apparatus that can be used. The only thing about the TDQ is that if you are going to use it, it can not be any taller than the TTQB and the arm can not be any longer than the TTQB. That is only fair to guys who are using the similar TTQB. In that aspect, it does not give one type of QB an advantage over the other. This will be measured at the Shootout.
