I was watching the NFL network and they were doing a program on the best runningbacks and while I didin't see the whole show I got to see three of the best - OJ Simpson, Gayle Sayers and my all time favorite Walter Payton. I got to re-live some of his runs and it brought back so many memories. I know that everyone has their opinion on who the best one was: Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Sayers, OJ and while I loved to watch them go ( the ones that I was old enough to see ) my money will always be on Mr Payton. I can remember him running over like 9 Chiefs ( sorry Wolf ) , Lions, and Saints on the same play.. you know what I am talking about. This quote from the only cryboy I respected, Tom Landry, " He is the best running back to ever play the game". WOW! Very high praise from an awesome coach. RIP Sweetness and thanks for the memories.
