Default Week 1 in the books

The first week of the WWSEFL season started off with the bang. Unfortunatley my camera is about to giving me migranes, but I will try to get pictures up later this week.

Top teams Dallas and Green Bay went down early, and two expansion teams, New York and Atlanta got big first wins. Here were some of the highs and lows of the week.

Player of the Week: Willie Parker
Parker had to go up against a tough Dallas defense, but ran through them with ease. Parker finished with 155 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. Miami, another playoff team, is next up for Parker and the Steelers.

Biggest Disapointment: Green Bay offensive line
Green Bay came into the season with 3 runnning back all capable of having big running games. The came away with their first loss and -28 total rushing yards. Other then a Paul Hornung 1 yard TD dive, the offensive line was atrocious. Brett Favre had to carry the whole load on his shoulders, and the Patriots cued up for the pass. Green Bay needs to get it together for their next game against standout defensive lineman David Pollack and Justin Smith of the Bengals.

Biggest Surprise: Eli Manning
Manning lead a new, inexperienced team in a 23-20 overtime win over Kansas City. Manning threw for 213 yards in the first ever game, and 2 TDs. The New York offense was very impressive, and will need to keep it up against a tough New England team.

What's up ahead: Dallas vs San Francisco
The top two teams in the Pacific division, Dallas and San Francisco, are facing off against each other in a big early game. San Francisco is coming off a win against Indianapolis that didn't mean much. The Cowboys, on the other hand, played tough against Pittsburgh, but gave up 155 yards to Willie Parker. Now they have to try to stop Kevin Barlow. Will they succeed, or will the 49ers knock the Cowboys to a 0-2 record.
