No need to battle, just respect the other's style
Shabby,
I've never came at any style of play. All I have ever really done is discussed the pros and cons of the Shootout style. That's all I know. When it comes to other styles of play, I am totally ignorant. Yes, I have played in some other styles but by no means am I good at those styles. So all I can do is talk comfortably on the Shootout style. My problem comes with condescending remarks about things concerning what we do in the Shootout Style. Not many styles use dice (as it is frowned upon in some circles) so that's usually a red flag for what we do in the Shootout style. My thing is "Why the concern on dice if you have no interest in them? Why slam them?" You know nothing about their purpose but you make an off the cusp statement about it being absurd to use. Never once did that type of comment come from me on another style of play. I respect what everybody does with their styles of play. I just have no idea what the argument is about? What do guys want? Do they just want you to stop playing in the system you have and go straight to their style? I think there is room for any and all styles. No need for the attack rhetoric. Like I said, watching Warhammer and seeing all types of rulesets only strengthen what I had been saying for years, "All under one roof Convention". But it is not my job to market any other style of play but what I know and that's what I do. I am willing to show games on the internet, do videos, and hold classes. I am readily available to offer the information. Just market YOUR product in a positive manner and leave the other rules alone! They don't concern you. Just my opinion |
