Default The DFW Super Bowl, A Tradition Like No Other

The Rose Bowl, Ericsson Stadium, Pro Player Park, the Los Angeles Coliseum, Alltel Stadium, Raymond James Stadium, and Ford Field are just a few of the greatest venues that the DFW Electric Football League has has hosted its Super Bowls.

Great coaches such as Michael Robertson (4 time champion), Don Hudson (2-time champion), Reginald Rutledge (2-time champion), and Oscar Woodard (1-time champion) are the only champions the DFW has seen in its 12 year history.

Coaches competing in the most SuperBowl have been Reginald Rutledge (8 Super Bowls) and Michael Robertson (4 Super Bowls).

Winningest coaches of all-time include Reginald Rutledge (.820) and DeWone McDaniel (.700).

Longest winning streaks in league history are Reginald Rutledge's Dallas Cowboys (32-game winning streak), Reginald Rutledge's Kansas City Chiefs (38-game winning streak), Michael Robertson's Miami Dolphins (24-game winning streak), and Don Hudson's New York Jets (17-game winning streak).

Three Super Bowls lost with the shaking of the "The Box". Super Bowl 5 saw Reginald Rutledge's Cowboys lose to Oscar Woodard's Tennessee Titans when Darryl "Moose" Johnston raced in from 75 yards out only to fumble the ball on the Titans 20 yardline with time running out! What a way for Rutledge to lose the coveted title. Titans won 28-24.

Super Bowl 7 saw Oscar Woodard Titans lose to Michael Robertson's Saints when Yancy Thigpen (Shook the Box) was whistlsed for pushing off in the endzone on an apparent TD pass with 33 seconds left on the clock. Titans had two more cracks at it but never threaten to score from that point on. Saints came back and won 33-28.

Rutledge loses another title with time running out. Emmitt Smith goes in from 8 yards out on a draw play. Robertson's Dolphins shake "The Box" and Cowboys lineman Kevin Gogan was whitlsled for holding. Cowboys lose on a sack the next play and lose 7-6 in the lowest scoring Super Bowl in league history.

"The Box" is arguably the greatest piece of "equality" in the DFW League. It can be your best friend or worst enemy. It is a necessary evil as it keeps the element of luck in the game and adds to the great excitement that defines the DFW League.

So, stay abreast of the pagentry of the DFW Super Bowl coming to the silver screen March 25, 2006 at 3:00 pm. EFL coaches from across the country will be flying in to Texas just to be a part of the festivities. Coaches like Frank "The Professor" Johnson (Chicago), "Mr. National" Corey Johnson (Philly), Howard "The Lawyer" Klein (Florida), Jamal "Biglock" Lockhart, Leron "I Played on Every Level" King (West Virginia), John "Que" Oubre (NO Louisiana), Geno "Jimmy" Hendricks (Tornado Alley EFL), Al "The Lost Temptation" Clegg (Los Angeles), Morgan "Mozeek" Scott and many more highlight the list of EFL celebrities making their way to Texas to witness and enjoy the festivities.
