Default Wireless Remote Switch

Anyone using a wireless remote electrical switch to turn their board on and off? (see image below)

If so, be careful!

I keep my board set up in an extra bedroom on a table with all my junk, etc.. My 308 is plugged in and ready to rock and roll at any time. I hooked one of these wireless electric switches up to it, so now I don't have the white cord with a switch on it to pass back and forth from one coach to another, there is just a small wireless keyfob to turn the field on and off.

Thanks for the idea Vince!!!!

I am sitting here in that same room on the Internet, the 308 jumps to life acrosss the room and starts humming, scared the heck out of me, I spun around expecting to see that the cat stepped on the wireless switch and she was not in the room. I turned it off and sat back at the computer, wondering what had happened, then I look out the window across the street and see my neighbor backing out of his driveway and his garage door closing.

It dawned on me, that the opening/closing of his garage door set the field off, as the receiver in my room must have gotten a signal from his garage door remote and it turned my field on.

Interesting, I love this wireless switch, now I make sure I keep the field off when not in use.

Had this happened at 7:00am on a work day when no one was here, the field would have run all day and burned the motor right out.
