First game
Thanks Guys,
Well...I was reading this board yesterday and my 21 year son who is home from Valdosta State U walked in and asked what I was up to. Minutes later, he offered to kick my butt in MF. Just happened to have my 620 grass field set up in my study and a few standard Miggle stamped helmet teams based, numbered and tweaked to the best of my ability. Of course, I took the Jets, he took the Giants. We did use pass simulation and dice only for FG's and PAT's. (sorry)... I had built a set of sticks and glued a magnet to a Miggle "brown" football bout 3 months ago. I pretty much have all the different rules and various methods to play down from about 2 months of reading both forums. To summarize it went great w/some timely blocks that looked planned, an interception by a player who rolled off a block and beat my player to the ball for my son...he came out of no where and just turned on some speed !! On the next play Derick Ward came through a hole between guard/tackle for a 37 yd TD. Those two plays made the difference. Suffice it to say, he WON, 16-14...he actually rolled snake eyes which we deemed a missed PAT. Also had back to back KO returns for TD's with what appeared to be realistic blocking and "almost got him" tackling...amazing. We did the run the board 3-4 seconds then put the returner down "method" I read somewhere. Imagine a 21 yr old (PS2, XBOX guy) home for the Holiday answering calls from his friends on his cell and immediately stating I'm busy "dude" have to call ya back, click. We are going to base up, tweak and number another 11 players today for the Jets and Giants so we have "trained" offense, defense and special teams for a rematch !! Showed him some pic's off this site of the amazing detail ya'll have on your players and game boards along w/some you tube videos and he was just totally impressed !!! You should have seen his face when he saw Reggie's Cowboy stadium and field on you tube!! Sorry for the long post, just really excited Joe |
