If you do not have some already in the tool box,get apoxie sculpt by AVES.great for customizing or whatever.for this application I use it to make the balls.Also if you go to an aquarium shop,they have small clear tubes that fit inside the flex tubing that run with air pumps.they are small,clear and rigid.Just cut it the height of a MF player and glue it or place it in a magnet that will stick to field when needed.The other side of the tube is where the ball goes as if it is in the air.you can either push the ball down into the tube before the ball hardens or glue it after.Easier to let it dry pushed down slightly into the tube.It will harden and attach itself to the tube.Paint the ball and there you go.Reggie R. also says you can use old gum.--STT these clear tubes are more durable than clear tubes that come at the end of a paint brush,but that will work too if you have them.
