NFL License
I remember sitting at a Packer game and there was an ad using Electric football for Penske Movers.
Here you are, doing an ad at a Packer game, but the EF figures had to be as generic as could be (basic green & yellow) because they didn't have the license to use the logo, etc. Reg is right on with the NCAA...it becomes a negotiation with each individual team (but therein you're only getting the team's license, not the ability to make money off a player likeness from that college). That's why, when you look at the NCAA college video games, you see "QB #12" instead of their name. That's because the video game manufacturers don't have a blanket group like NFLPA to negotiate with. It's an interesting deal to say the least. |
