Early committment from coaches-2009 Hoosier Heartland Invitational
To all Coaches,
PLEASE ANSWER THIS POLL, WHETHER YOU PLAN ON COMING OR NOT. Thanks! Planning for the 2009 Hoosier Heartland Invitational tournament and Boy Scout event has begun. This year I am planning a three day event to take place at the Ramada Inn in Logansport, Indiana on November 6-9 later this year. The Invitational's purpose is to raise money for our local Boy Scout troops and to put on a midwest tournament, hopefully as successful as the Beltsville Bash, Bama Blast etc. We will also be conducting the Great Lakes Region MFCA skills competition. Here is a tenative schedule: Friday November 6th: 5-7pm Welcome party and get together for all coaches. 7pm-8pm Coaches meeting to explain tournament rules, set tournament field and ask for volunteers for the Boy Scout event. 8pm-10pm Great Lakes MFCA Skills Competition and open play. 10pm-2am Open play-Green Room Rumble. Saturday November 7th: 8am-12:30pm 2009 Hoosier Heartland Boy Scout event (expecting 6 troops or around 120 scouts and parents). 12:30pm-1:30pm Lunch. 1:30pm-Winners of Painting Contest announced. 2pm-9pm Chernetsky Rapid Fire rounds of Invitational tourney. 9pm-11pm-Losers Bracket Final 11pm-? Open play. Sunday November 8th: 9am-Noon Hoosier Heartland Invitational Semi-finals. 1pm-4pm 2009 Hoosier Heartland Invitational Championship. Last year we raised $1,400 for the Boy Scouts and I am very grateful for all the coaches who came and helped with the Boy Scout event. The fee for this year's event will be as follows: If you register and pay at the MFCA Convention: $35 Register and pay 2 weeks before: $40 Day of event: $45 All proceeds from tourney registration fees will go to the Boys Scouts of America. Welcome party food will be provided by me. We will have both a kids and adult painting contest for some great prizes. You will have two chances to take home some hardware, as we will have a losers bracket tournament to take place Saturday evening. I will also be putting on a "kids" tourney if I get enough response back. We will have several MF items to raffle off and prizes awarded throughout the weekend. We had a great time last year! Mark your calendars and God Bless! Matthew Culp MFCA, Secretary Editor and Publishing Director of The Tweak
