Default NOW....my statement on this last week's events

Dear MFCA,
I feel that I owe all of you a statement regarding this last week’s events. I currently have some family issues that far outweigh any thing that currently is taking place on this forum, but I have had my first night’s sleep in my own bed in a week and my thoughts are relatively clear.

I first need to thank all of you for your thoughts and concerns regarding my family. I have received numerous emails and pm’s and will not have the time to thank each of you personally. The situation is far too personal to go into detail but I want to let you know that all in my family are safe and secure and physically healthy.

As yet, I have not had time to read each post and thread in detail. I have the jest of the matter and here is my take on it.

This forum is founded and based on the following statement. Unifying the miniature football hobbyist by promoting miniature football, educating the public and providing a unified association which recognizes and supports the diverse coaches and leagues.

If something is placed on this forum that steps out of the boundaries of that statement it is not welcome here. I personally feel that the mission statement should be revised to the following: Assisting the miniature football hobbyist by promoting miniature football, educating the public and providing an association which recognizes and supports the diverse coaches and leagues. It is my opinion that unity, as most of us perceive it, is unachievable and I would like to see the mission statement reflect a goal that can be reached.

If you do not agree with the mission of the MFCA as it is currently written, then I would suggest that you leave this forum NOW and start your own.

Freedom of Speech is only extended on this forum as far as it reaches within the boundaries of the mission statement. If you do not agree with this statement, then find a forum that will grant you your version of freedom of speech.

There will NOT be a new forum for our lowest of low posts. The place for those posts is somewhere in the endless void of cyberspace. It serves no purpose within the framework of the mission statement.

If you have real issues with another, you may telephone them, you may pm them or email them but this forum will not be your mouthpiece. If you find this form of forum to bland for your liking, you may leave NOW.

If you do not believe in showing this game in a positive light to the rest of the world then leave this forum NOW. This forum is not here to be your crying game, gripe session, threat monger or self esteem builder. It is here to promote the hobby to others. If you want a place to gripe, whine and cry then leave this forum NOW.

For those of you who don’t like the Code of Conduct (COC) I would suggest you read the tale of the little red hen that was baking bread. We asked people to help; to give input and the community did not step forward. Thus, it is what it is and we will be reviewing everything that took place this last week and possibly further into the past and handing out disciplines based on the current COC. If you are not willing to accept the COC as it is currently written than you may leave the forum NOW or you may offer it up as something to discuss at the annual business meeting for revision.

If you are concerned about agendas and not knowing the true feelings of the community….all I can say is, too bad for you. The only agenda of this forum is to promote and assist and help unify. If you want a wide open, no holds barred forum then start your own and get off of this one. This forum is not here for you!

You have a choice! The MFCA is not the right place for everyone and I admit to getting caught up in the numbers game and growing this association based on achieving large numbers of participants. This was a mistake and I have been far too lenient at times in an attempt to maintain and grow our population. For the remainder of my time here as President, I will attempt to put this ship on its right path within the fabric of the mission statement. Again, this forum is not going to please all of you and you have the choice to remain or leave but the bull stops here NOW and with me.

I would suggest to the community that you begin, with serious thought, to look for a person to take my place who will uphold the mission statement and will provide strength when needed and passion for the hobby and it’s growth. I will always be involved in some form or another, but I am not willing to lead a group of people who cannot or who are not willing to uphold the mission statement.

For those of you who don’t like what I have said to this point, you may leave NOW. Send your MFCA membership resignation as required by the by-laws of the MFCA to coach@miniaturefootball.org
