![]() So, you’ve posted pics of your impeccably detailed team on the chat board and everyone has given you hugs and ‘well done ’s. You’re feeling your oats because you have the best looking set of Pinetown Piranha’s around. You’re thinking “Ha, no one can paint as well as I do” Yeah, you think you can paint. But, can you really????
![]() I’m laying the smack down right here for next years MFCA convention. I’m challenging everyone here to a painting contest. But not just any painting contest. I’m talking about Extreme Painting! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1) There will be 8 challenges. Everyone will get 8 figures, one for each challenge. The figures will all be standard Miggle figures, with a few modifications and one exception (more on that later). You will be required to paint different aspects of a uniform (depending on the challenge), and do it within a certain timeframe. The figures will then be set aside for judging by the judge panel after the competition is over. All figures will be marked on the bottom in a manor to make them anonymous to the judges so that there won’t be any favoritism. Depending on the number of people who are competing, the figures will be awarded points as to who did the best job. For example, if there are 8 people competing, then the best painted figure will get 1 point, the next figure gets 2 points etc. until the worst figure gets 8 points. Each judge grades the figures separately, depending on his taste. There will be between 3-5 judges. The lowest score will be determined to be the winner. If there are 8 competitors and 3 judges, then the lowest possible score would be 24. That would be 1 point for each challenge (8 challenges) times 3 judges 1 X 8 X 3 = 24. Conversely, the worst score possible would be 192 … 8 X 8 X 3 = 192. At the end, the winner will receive a special award and the privilege of being able to say that they are the Extreme Painting Champion! Ok, pretty simple you say. Well, here’s the challenges! A) And dat’s da tooth!: Anyone can paint with a paintbrush, but can you paint with a toothbrush? You have 2 minutes to paint the pants and jerseys with a toothbrush. Who can do the neatest job? ![]() B) The big face-off: Who can paint the best looking face on an Excalibur figure, and do it in less than 2 minutes? ![]() C) Good Vibrations!: Did I forget to mention that before the contest started, everyone has to drink a shot of double espresso to help ‘settle the nerves’? As if that isn’t enough, we’ll take turns sitting on a vibrating cushion, all while trying to paint the straightest leg stripes in 3 minutes. ![]() D) Slippery when wet: You’ll be painting shoe logos and necklines. That is, after you’ve dipped your fingers into some slippery veggie oil. You have 4 minutes. Think you can get a grip? Whoops! ![]() E) The windy city: You’ll have to paint sock stripes, while facing a fan at full speed, in less than 2 minutes. And did I forget to mention that as the contest progresses, another shot of espresso is in order??? ![]() F) Helmet head: We’ll pick a team out of a hat, and everyone will have 3 minutes to paint the logo on the helmet. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Did I mention that there will be a team of professional hecklers going around trying to distract you? ![]() G) Disco Inferno!: What’s so hard about painting shoulder stripes and numbers in 4 minutes, unless, of course, it’s done in a dark room with a strobe lamp? ![]() H) Blind Man’s Bluff: All you have to do is paint some pants. Blindfolded. In 3 minutes. ![]() Now, who is up to the Extreme Painters Challenge? Anyone??? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
