The promotional side of Canton! Photos from the kids event!
What most of you missed this year and what many of you may not have known was even happening, was the Kids tailgate event at the HOF which the MFCA was part of and has been the last 3 years. We have established a great foothold together with the Pro Footballs Ultimate Fans Association. This year was the second one to be held at the HOF and it was huge! Around 400 to 600 people came through the tent from every part of the United States! We gave out over 700 MFCA trading cards, 1000 Miggle/Tudor figures, other trading cards and mini helmets. For many, this was the first time they had seen the game, but there were also many who gave us the same comments we have all heard. "I had that as a kid...they still make it?" "Mine just ran in circles." "There are leagues??!!"
Ray Fanara ran plays and showed how to tweak bases to get them to run properly and I ran a strength competition where the kids chose a free figure from the table and one of my pre-tweaked bases and competed against there brother, sister or parent who did the same. Lots of cheering went on as they tried to outdo each other. They kept the figure and the base went back into the bullpen for the nest contestant. I also gave many many demos on how to adjust a base and ALL of the dad's were quite impressed to see how the process was successful! We will be doing this every year regardless of our convention venue, as it only takes 3-4 coaches to handle it and it is a great promotional event that reaches to every section of the country and even the world. I wish I could of taken more photos, but it was a madhouse once the crowd started up. All of these photos were taken before the big crowd hit!

Wolf, I stand corrected...
on the promotion of the game.
I am not above saying that. I just wish that some of those young people came over to playing the game and establishing a local league in Canton. Reg |

Not trying to correct anyone, just painting more of the picture. I have a plan brewing that I think will resolve most of the discussion, carry out our mission statement, involve more venues in more places and carry on tradition! I just need time to formulate the wording and have a few more discussions with some of the league and tourney organizers before I present it. Everybody be patient and I think we can make something pretty darn cool!! The discussion is important though and I am following along with wide open ears!
