Creating the Zone Blocking Scheme: The Denver Broncos
Today I get to play the Denver Broncos versus the New Orleans Saints. It's the 1977 Orange Crush Defense with the 1998 Denver Broncos offense against the 2009 New Orleans Saints.
In a couple of hours, I will be attempting to analyze how to create zone blocking scheme in miniature football. For many years, that is what I have ran in miniature football. For solitaire, it will be a little different because the pre-reads for the defense will be made ahead of time. And the blocking schemes of the offense will be pre-determined. What I have to create scenarios for is when I want to move all the linemen laterally one way or the other way or do I want the line to split in the 1-2-3-4-5 or -B-C-D gaps and how can I translate that into using the box without taking up extra time. The defense will be pre-determined but it's the offensive scheme I worry about. Shown below is Brian Bellick's diagramming and analyzing the scheme. I will attempt to run this scheme for the Denver Broncos with Terrell Davis as the workhorse. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-networ...locking-scheme Reg |

Interesting....
....I'd like to see what you come up with. Will you angle the O-line when you set up or do you use TTC dials to get the correct directional blocking?

Yeah, i would love to see it as well.
Cant see how one could do it in EF without stoppages. The back has to read whether the d over plays so he cuts back or if the o line gets the edge, so he doesnt need the cutback. In EF, without a stop, the cutback or the sprint to the edge has to be predetermined in set up, then hope its executed correctly by the offense, and to an extent, the defense conforms to the plan perfectly. BUT I HAVE ALWAYS SAID YOU ARE A GENIUS REG, SO SHOW ME MY MAN!!!! I'M HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
