Bash - Thanks guys from Minneapolis Tom!!!
Made it back safe and sound, in time for me to watch the Packers fold in the second half.
As always, you guys really take care of us out-of-towners. Everything ran without a hitch and the MCFA skills competition was a lot of fun! It was pretty funny when Keith kicked the ball into Corey's cup of water. Beltsville is a place that holds a lot of special memories for me and I was very glad that my first tournament title came at a place where I feel like family. Shout outs: Keith: Heckuva final game. Three certainties in life are death, taxes, and Chalmers still being around at the end of a tournament. You're a great coach, my friend and it took everything I had on every play. If people ask what it feels like to win a tournament, the only thing I can reply at this time is "exhausting"...because playing against guys like you force the chess match to a new level. Ray: Thanks so much for the ride from the airport and the scrimmage time. Am glad the NSA didn't get on us for the U-Turn in the parking lot of their building. Ed: You're the "father" of many tournaments and I still remember fondly my first tourney where you took me aside and showed me a thing or two about how to make the QB a weapon. Thanks so much for the ride to BWI. Dearell: Always great to see you and was especially great to meet your fiance. Congratulations!!!! Tom J: It's always a pleasure. Thanks so much for being ref/scorekeeper in the final 2 games. It's thankless, but you kept things moving!! Kevin T: Really enjoyed the time getting to know you over the weekend. I'll get a hold of you regarding something you forgot to take with you! CorEy: Mr. National. I'm still shaking my head at the play #16 score in the second half that made me climb all the way through the losers bracket. You played great and thanks for being the MFCA steward. Ty: Was very glad we could get Ohio State - Michigan on the board against each other. "Whitey" is back in his box, safe and sound, and contemplating retirement. Will C: Nice run! You definitely got game. Enjoyed getting on the board with you and am sure that this is the start of many runs for you. Joe: So glad that you are feeling better. You are a great EF ambassador and a good friend also. Will T: It means a lot to me that you were the first one on the phone offering congratulations. You and your wife are in our prayers and the fact that you were reaching out to others at a time like this just shows the classy individual you've always been! Kevin B, Floyd, Lomax, Smitty, Morgan, Anthony H, Anthony B, Warren, and many others whom I'm unintentionally leaving out...hearing the buzz around the room, both in laughter and little men flying around a board are what makes the memories. Thanks! |

Congradtulaion are in Order
Hey Tom
Many in this hobby don't recognise when someone wins a chapoinship of any type. They think it's not my league or the way I play so who cares. Well for one I care. So I want to congradulate you on your victory. I'm sure you put in the time and hard work to win as I saw first hand Saturday night.
