Question Original Old frosty trivia.....

Can any one tell me rather original old frosties ever came on a sprue or individualy? What year did they start in production and end? What games were they included in? Superbowls? How dark do they get?

Default I'm Speculating

What’s up GM,

The original frosties probably are older than or as old as a lot of us in the hobby. If you will allow me to speculate, I would assume that they came on a sprue. They probably were light green. Allow me to speculate further. They may have come out around the late 60s or very early 70s.

Coach Karim,

I think that the "frosties" you are talking about came out in 98/99. I'm not sure how long the run was.

They came out in 1996 - 1998, and yes the originally came on a sprue of 12 bases.

I still have a few original sprues.

Default Frosty Bases

Thanks for the acknowledgement Scott, and I’m glad Bill P. posted up as well. When I placed some of my original base and team orders with Miggle Toys after getting back into this hobby in the late 90s early 00s, I received primarily original frosty bases in both TTC and rookies on sprues in the same package. By 2001/2002 or so the original stock of Frosty bases was depleted and they started developing new color schemes for the tournament bases. You could still get green bases, but they were a darker or opaque green where the frosty bases had a lighter tint. So, I had many a solitaire team with these tremendous (virgin) frosty bases, eventually I started building competitive teams and these frosty bases seem to be excellent on the O and D lines when tweaked for strength. Ray F.
