Due to massive increases in airlines and gas prices coming up in october and all of next year, we got to play this smart !!!!!! forget all of the BEEFS, HANGUP'S, I DON'T LIKE THIS , I DON'T LIKE THAT,PLAY MY WAY, NO PLAY MY WAY. AS MR. UN ITY 2008, HERE IS MY PROPOSAL/TRUCE TO BRING EVERYONE BACK UNDER THE SAME TENT.


I mentioned about a year or two ago that we should all hit las vegas. The cbsmf has just declared they are going to vegas. WHY DON'T WE ALL JUST DO THIS TOGETHER ON A 4 TO 5 DAY EXTENDED WEEKEND.

REASON/ Everyone of us play's in 3 to 4 of these tourneys so why not be together on one weekend to save everyone money. ONE BIG MINIATURE FOOTBALL WEEKEND/VACATION, THE REST OF THE YEAR YOU CAN VACATION WITH YOUR FAMILY.

WHY VEGAS/EVERYTHING IS ALWAY'S MUCH CHEAPER IN LAS VEGAS BECAUSE ALL OF THE HOTELS WAN'T YOU TO HAVE EXTRA MONEY TO GAMBLE WITH.****VEGAS IS ALWAY'S RUNNING CHEAP FLIGHT DEALS TO GET YOU OUT THERE. ALSO/ There is a embassy suites right off the strip we can do business with. EVERYTHING IS CHEAPER OFF THE STRIP PLUS MF HAS AN ESTABLISHED MF HISTORY VIA MIGGLE'S TOURNEY.

HERE IS THE KICKER (NO PUN INTENDED) We are inviting everyone and whomever does not wan't to come together for whatever reason( we will gone on with the show without them) I'm sick and tired of 1 or 2 people trying to hold eveyone hostage with there pettiness and try to damper the MF spirit we all have. WE CAN SAVE MONEY NOW, RUN CONTEST TO GET COACHES OUT THERE, RENT BUSES (ALA BUS ROAD TRIP THROUGH THE COUNTRY TO VEGAS)

Your idea is great , we decided to travel together as a league to participate in tournament in 2009. I know the coaches in this league would love this idea of yours. Okay MANTARAY- DRE I will be the one to bring you back down to earth and play devils advocate. Please make a note...I am not critizing your idea...I am just raising questions...nothing but love for you from Indiana...

First off...I admire your enthusiasm towards the hobby...I am continually impressed by your zeal and your ability to get people pumped up. This response is by no means an attempt to dampen that zeal...quite the opposite...I want more coaches to see how much you love this game....

Second, my family and I regularly go to Vegas via our time share at the Flamingo Hilton. You have mentioned several reasons why you think it would be a great location, but unfortunately the reality presents a lot of obstacles.

The largest obstacle is location. To have a convention, like what you described, is going to take some serious money. Everything is expensive in Vegas...and I do mean everything. To rent out some space in even the smallest of venues is going to run into the thousands of dollars. Then you have the expense of staying in Vegas for an entire week. We spend around $1,500-$2,500 the last couple times we spent a week in Vegas...and that was just for the basics. Those "freebie" trips you are talking about are tied to buying condos and time shares in Vegas. You must sign up and follow around the host for sometimes up to two days...believe me they don't take no for an answer. And if you have found some cheap rooms off the strip, then I want their phone numbers...the only thing cheap in Vegas is the Buffets. What kind of prices have you gotten from the Embassy Suites in Vegas? Last I checked rooms were $160-$200 a night...if you can get us a deal, then I would be interested.

Furthermore, what about equipment for the tourneys? If everyone has to fly to the location, then where are we going to get boards to play on? I know the LAEFL is out there and my friend Dave Campbell would probably make the trip, not to mention we have Mike Turner in Vegas, but are guys going to want to play on other guys boards? Just throwing it out there.

Finally, I am worried about consolidating the tourneys to the point where we are meeting for just one week. I think the best way to go, would be to consolidate regions rather than the whole country. Reggie has the new College league going, we could consolidate the Bama, Brawl and Bash into one. I noticed you left the Hoosier Invitational off your list...that is fine...we (midwest coaches) have been trying to get our own tourney together. Perhaps we could go in with Buzzfest and Miggle.

Anyway...just throwing my two cents out there...

One thing is for certain...we can discuss all this face to face at the MFCA Convention during our organizational meeting on Friday from 11am-2pm. Bring all your information Dre and we can all talk about it when everyone is together...

Well I was a little low on the prices for the hotel for Vegas. I got a quote (see below) on the Embassy Suites Convention center and they start out at $179 a night. I am sure that price comes down if we hold a convention there, but how far would they come down I don't know. I am going to try some other hotels to see what the rates are, so we can get a general idea of the cost for an entire week stay...

I Bet If Miggle Said They Are Going To Vegas At The Suites The Price Would Be Knocked Down To $99 Due To A Convention In Town With A Certain Amount Rooms Sold.

Ii Would Call The Sales Rep There And Explain Our Situation And Get Some Pricing But No One Seems Interested In Connecting So Why Bother.

It Does Not Really Matter At This Point !

Don't give up so easily! Call the sales rep and see what they say...their phone number is on my post. If you want people to participate, then you have to have some sort of plan. I think getting everyone together in one place is a great idea...that is the whole purpose of the MFCA...unity! Being persistent is key...that is how Reggie and many coaches have become so successful...persistence.
