Galloping ghost breakaway runner
I have heard that the Galloping Ghost breakaway runner is pure speed, but I can't get any speed out of it. I have a base that runs coast to coast in 4.5 seconds. And when I put that figure on the base it takes more than 15 seconds to go coast to coast. I have tried prolines, polos, oranges, single clips, and speed diamond bases and none seem to work! I have been trying to tweak those bases for about 2 hours today and have had no luck.
How do I get a good performing base for this figure? Help! Michael |

Best Tip
Tape a bottle rocket to that puppy! It'll break the speed of plastic!!!
The only one I have experience with is on my Cedric Benson and he sucks in miniature form as much as he sucks in real life!!! That pose is one of the 1st ones that I customize because of his forward lean. I'll post a pic of my Chad Johnson shortly. |

Duhhhh!!!
Chris replying to this thread reminded me of #2 on my ARMY squad. DUHHH!?!?!?! He is the 2nd fastest on that team and he is on a stock GG on a polo green rookie base. So, with that said, it's all in the tweak!

The Breakaway Runner Works
Tyler,
Sometimes, it is not the figure fault or the base fault but a combination of the two. That's why I call them athletes! The problem is probably linked to not making the right cut at the torso, the placement of the base on the platform and the base being used. For that particular runner, a good base to use would be an "Old School" TTQB bas. This base is consistent and has great speed. Jimbo is definitely right about the tweak of the base. That is much needed. These players have such science to them that if you are playing in a 4.0 league/system, it is important to put weight *lead tape or putty) in the proper place. On this particular figure, it is important to note that he should run around left end and curve up for 80-100 yards. If the added weight in placed in the front of the base, he will tip over. That has to do with momentum. If the weight is placed on the right side of the base, it will arc too much which adds to his natural lean. You have to place the weight on the left side of the base and towards the back portion of the middle section. Then he should be able to perform like great athletes. If that does not work, send him here and I will fix it for you. Reg |
