I Love it....fresh...cool and good looking....Question, did the Saints ever have black helmets? Great decals as well. I may just do a team like that as well. Inspired.

I read somewhere that the Saints wore the black helmet in the pre-season in either '68 or '69, I can't remember. Might have been '69.

Default The Unknown Black Helmet
Yeah the Saints wore a black helmet back in the day. I think they should bring it back today. It would look good when they wear their all black uniform. Visit this link for details. http://www.helmethut.com/feat.html

The Saints wore black helmets for the '69 preseason games only.
They did not get permission from the league for the change in helmet color and were forced to wear the gold helmets at the start of the season. The helmets were sent to a minor league pro team in Memphis.

I wish they would wear black helmets with the original uni's.
