Question Question on Defensive Linemen

Do the defensive linemen have to be setup directly across from the Offensive linemen. or can they be lined up in the gaps?

Default HECK NO !!!!!!!!!

FRANK B.

Defensive lineman can set up wherever they want. MANY DEFENSIVE SCHEMES CAN BE RUN. If you look at pittsburgh they line up one way then the d-lineman move entirely to a different area. You can do this in any style of play. In the MPFL now the ofense must figure out who to block. Don't let anyone tell you must put someone over a lineman. A few years ago Bill Belechik did not put anybody on the d-line. The offensive lineman had no one to block !
