The Fantasy Football season playoffs and championship.........

First, I want to thank everyone who has been following my fantasy football season. The first 10 'weeks' were alot of fun. It has been interesting, to say the least, watching the season as it has progressed. But now, it is time to find out who is the best team!


The WMLMF playoffs are here! It was a long, grueling 10 ’weeks’, and now we get down to the nitty-gritty. I was going to make it where the 2 North teams play against each other and the 2 Un-North teams play against themselves so that there would be a North vs. Un-North championship, but decided that I would stick to the original 1 vs. 4, 2 vs. 3 playoff bracket after all. Here’s a breakdown of the 2 games this week. ….

#1 Canadian Sasquatch vs. the #4 San Francisco Flaming Fairies

Series history: The Sasquatch have won all 3 games between the two teams, including last years WMLMF championship game, which went into overtime.

Sasquatch Offense: The ‘Quatch have a simple offensive strategy - give the ball to Grog. If that doesn’t work, then give the ball to Muckman. And if that doesn’t work, then give the ball back to Grog. It seems to work as the Sasquatch averaged 258 yards on the ground per game during the regular season. When the ‘Quatch do pass the ball, they rely on Stinkwater, the second highest rated QB in the league with a 129.5 rating. Tipper, the tight end, led the team with 4 TD receptions.

Fairy Offense: When you think of the Fairies, you think of their QB, Tommy Cruise. Cruise was the top gunner in the league, throwing for 1924 yards and 17 touchdowns. Though he has been known to be risky with his throws ( 12 interceptions) he usually makes all the right moves, and is far and away the most prolific QB in the league. Cruise’s favorite target is tight end Gene Simmons, the leagues top receiver with 739 yards and 8 touchdowns. The running game struggled in the first half of the season, but Johnny Holmes and James Leach have come on strong in their push to make the playoffs.

Sasquatch Defense: The ‘Quatch rely on their huge linemen to stop the run. In their 7 wins, they only gave up 277 rushing yards, an average of just 39.6 yards per game. If they have a weakness, it might be their pass coverage, having given up the league worst 2095 yards in the air. As bad as they look, the Sasquatch did have the 2nd most interceptions with 12.

Fairy Defense: The Fairies have 3 of the top 12 defensive players in the league, with Barney Frank, Rod Stroker and Ron Simmons. They didn’t play very well in the first half of the season, but have turned things around, helping them go 4-1 in their last 5 games. Their secondary is one of the league’s best, giving up an average of 130 passing yards per game.

Sasquatch Special Teams: Grog and Muckman handle the return duties and average just over 30 yards per return. Their kicker, Bunyons, has a strong leg and is accurate, especially under perssure.

Fairies Special Teams: Holmes and Leach are the Fairy kick return men, and average 25 yards. Their kicker, Pat Medown is the leagues best.

Game prediction: The big guys from up north easily handled the Fairies in the regular season game. The Fairies running game is much improved since then, but will it be enough? The Fairies will make it interesting for a half, then the Bigfoot team will walk away.

#2 Midwest Mennonites vs. the #3 Battlin’ Bozos of Battle Creek

Series History: The Bozos won their only meeting earlier in the year when the Mennonites’ Mathew Martin missed a field goal on the games final play.

Mennonite Offense: The Mennonites have the league MVP and highest rated QB in Billy Bob Weisser. They also have a 1,000 yard rusher in Speedy Ezekiel and a couple of outstanding receivers in Mudder Smucker and Steven Stucky. They can attribute it all to the best linemen in the league, Doug Kennel, Walkder Plank, Leroy Sutter, Bubba Roth and Roger Raber.

Bozos Offense: The clowns were struggling at 1-3-1 when they made one simple change, naming 5 ½ their starting running back. The results have been nothing short of astounding. They’ve won their last 5 games in a row, More or Less has become a terrific receiver, and Pi has vastly improved his reading of defenses, throwing only 2 interceptions and 6 touchdowns in that time.

Mennonite Defense: The amish team doesn’t have any great stars on defense. What they do have, is great team chemistry. Sam Smucker and Louis Lapp anchor the right side of the line, while Henry McCracken and ‘Mad Dog’ Mathias plug the middle from their line backing positions. The secondary is sound, with Lynn ‘Weirdwolf’ Schmidt having a stellar year at free safety.

Bozos Defense: The clowns feature one of the best linemen in the league, One Eleven, who finished second in the league in tackles, tied for first in sacks and had an interception as well. They also have one of the best safeties, Greaterthanfour, who finished 4th in tackles. The defensive ends, AM and FM, provide a fierce pass rush that puts a lot of pressure on opposing QB’s.

Mennonite Special Teams: Speedy and Luthar Lamp average almost 30 yards per return. Mathew Martin has been erratic on field goals, and may prove costly.

Bozos Special Teams: 5 ½ led the league in kick returns, averaging just under 40 yards per return. The Bozos kicker, Bernie, has been consistent all year and could be the difference between the two teams.

Game Prediction: The Mennonites were the first team to clinch a playoff spot. Perhaps a little too early, as they were flat in their last two games. The Bozos are riding a 5 game winning streak. The last game between these two came down to the last play. Not this time around. It’ll be close, but the Mennonites will put an end to the clowns’ dream season.

Flaming Fairies Get Sas-squashed

The Canadian Sasquatch proved that they are the team to beat, as they rolled over the hapless Fairies, 35-0. The win puts them into the WMLMF championship game for the second year in a row. The league’s leading rusher, Grog, ran for 129 yards on 13 carries and scored 3 touchdowns while his teammate Muckman tacked on 146 yards of his own. The reserves got some playing time and came through, as Flowers ran for 38 yards and scored his first touchdown of the season. Stinkwater was efficient, as he threw for 6-9-0 and 94 yards and a touchdown.

The Fairies couldn’t muster up much on offense, as the ’Quatch limited them to 7 yards rushing. The much maligned Sasquatch defensive secondary came through with 3 interceptions, as their line continually harassed Tommy Cruise, sacking him 3 times and forcing him into bad throws. Cruise finished the game 10-21-3 for 179 yards. Ron Simmons led the Fairies defense with 6 tackles, while Junior had 2 interceptions and Too Tall had 2 sacks for the ’Quatch.

Battered Bozos Still Standing


Beaten, battered and bloody, the Battlin’ Bozos hung on to defeat the Midwest Mennonites, 17-14. Once again the game came down to the final play, only this time it was the clowns’ Bernie who came through in the clutch as he hit a 20 yard field goal as time expired to propel them into the WMLMF championship game.

The clowns jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead on touchdown runs by 5 ½ and More or Less. The amish fought back to tie the game on a touchdown reception by Mudder Smucker and a run by Speedy Ezekiel. The Mennonites had the ball halfway into the 4th quarter and had a chance to go in front, but Plus intercepted a Billy Bob Weisser pass and the Bozos ran the ball down to the 3 yard line before Bernie hit the field goal on the last play of the game. 5 ½ finished the game with 77 yards running on 6 carries and a TD, while Speedy had 57 yards for the Mennonites. Weisser was 10-15-2 passing for 172 yards. Greaterthanfour had 6 tackles for the Bozos while Barney Fahrney and Louis Lapp had 5 apiece for the amish.

It’s finally here, the WMLMF championship game between the Battlin’ Bozos of Battle Creek and the Canadian Sasquatch. The ‘Quatch earned their trip with a sound 35-0 thumping of the San Francisco Flaming Fairies while the Bozos won on a last second field goal over the Midwest Mennonites. Here’s the breakdown of the title game….

Series history: The Bozos hold a 3-1 edge. They split their two regular season games this year.

Sasquatch Offense: The ‘Quatch rely on their massive linemen to open holes for their running backs. Averaging 7’10” and 485 pounds, Rocky, Stump, Ho-Chi, Jojo and Kenji are not only huge, they are extremely fast and nimble. As well as they open holes for the running game, they are equally adept at providing pass protection. They are the main reason why Grog and Muckman were #1 and #2 in the league in rushing and Stinkwater finished second in QB rating.

Bozos Offense: Balanced, is the best way to describe the Bozos offense. The clowns will spread the ball around between 2 Cents, 5 ½ and Moreorless, often causing confusion on the opposing defenses. Pi is a capable QB, and his favorite target, Target, has good hands and speeds at his tight end position. One Point Four and Pisces are unheralded receivers that can perform under pressure.

Sasquatch Defense: The Canadians are playing at their best right now… bad news for Battle Creek. In the last 2 games they’ve only given up 7 yards on the ground and their secondary has 6 interceptions . ‘Nuff said!

Bozos Defense: If you had to sum up the Bozo defense in only one word, it would be ‘spunky’. They shut out the Third Reich, then intercepted the leagues best QB, Billy Bob Weisser, twice in their playoff game.

Sasquatch Special Teams: The ’Quatch have been known to occasionally give up a big return. It may come back to haunt them.

Bozos Special Teams: The clowns have been consistent all year. Their place kicker, Bernie, has nerves of steel.

Prediction: The Bozos have won 6 in a row and have shown a lot of heart. The ’Quatch have been simply monstrous. Even though they are undersized and out muscled, the clowns just seem to find a way to beat the big guys. Will they do it again? They’ll play their little hearts out, but the Sasquatch are just too strong. Muckman and Grog will power them to victory, 35 - 17.

The championship game is over! Thanks to everyone who has been following my season, hopefully next year I will have 12-14 teams to play. I don't have any action pics of this game, as I was video taping it and want to put up some Youtube video links, but I'm having a hard time uploading to my PC. When I get it working, I will add links. Here you go, the final game for this year ..................










. Klutzy Klowns Get Klobbered

The Canadian Sasquatch forced 6 turnovers as they won their second straight WMLMF championship, 37-14. Junior was voted the games MVP, as his aggressive play set the tone early when he walloped Target on the Bozos first offensive play, causing a fumble. Junior finished the game with a team high 4 ½ tackles and 2 forced fumbles.

The Sasquatch had a hard time running the ball, as the Bozos limited the leagues leading rusher, Grog, to just 57 yards on 11 carries. Muckman had 113 yards on 8 carries, but 85 of those came on the last play of the third quarter when he broke open a long TD run. The ‘Quatch went to the passing game instead, with Stinkwater throwing 5-9-0 for 2 touchdowns and 106 yards in the first half as the Sasquatch built a 17-0 lead.

The Bozos chipped into the lead on their first series of the second half when 2 Cents ran 17 yards for a touchdown. The ’Quatch made it 20-7 when Bunyons made the second of his 3 field goals. The Bozos were poised to score again when 1.4 fumbled the ball after a hard hit by Spook at the Sasquatch 15. Muckman scored his touchdown on the ensuing play. Pi scored on a QB keeper early in the fourth to make it 27-14. Bunyons hit his third field goal and Trotter ran in from 10 yards out for the final score.

Pi ended up 10 of 15 for 190 yards, but he was intercepted 3 times by Tank, Gopher and Chappy. AM had 7 tackles for the clowns, while Shorty had 3 tackles and a sack for the ‘Quatch.
