HOW MANY SECONDS IN MF WOULD BE FAIR ?
COACHES,
If you are NOT playing a game that consist of stoppages like the MPFL. How many seconds per pass play would be fair to cut the board on and off then you must choose a receiver.? ** I think lomax uses a 3 second rule 1) should the qb be able to run if he does not see a receiver open ? 2) He can throw it awy if he likes ! Upon watching the games, these qb's had no time to pass. I counted to 2 many times and someone was on there YOU KNOW WHAT ! They threw the ball to avoid a sack. *** CAN A MINIATURE FOOTBALL RUNNING BACK AND WIDE RECEIVER GET OPEN IN 2 SECONDS ? What is your assessment on time for the qb and wr ? **I prefer db's running with the receiver downfield. ** If you choose not to run with the receiver and have your db's in front of them on the line. IS 2 SECONDS ENOUGH. Many coaches have linebacking loopers. Im not sure how many coaches run a safety blitz. THE OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE LINE ARE PRATICALLY SQUARE BASE ON SQUARE BASE. They virtually cant make swim moves or any kind of stunts in 2 seconds. ***If lomax is reading this, HOW DOES YOUR 3 SECOND RULE WORK ? Thanx MantarayDre

This is fairly common here in our league with the board speeds and the level of tweaking that is happening now.

3 second clock
in the BEFL, we use a timer for all action that uses time.
2.5 on kickoffs for hang time 3.0 pass play clock - from the time the offense starts the play until the timer stops the board - your pass play is underway. Once the board stops, you have to either 1) throw to open receiver; 2)throw it away if want to as long as there is a receiver open (unengaged); 3) coverage sack; 4) if QB was mobile- he can continue to run [after defense adjusts]. 1.5 on punts (rush to block) hope this helps........ |

In the M.O.M.F.L. { Mid - ohio } We turn the clock on as soon as the board starts , on pass plays. The clock is a continously { sp } running 25 second clock. You have 25 seconds from the time the board is turned on until the pass has to be attempted to an open reciever.
That may seem like alot of time, but if you are playing a good team, the offense will have to shut the board off before 2 seconds are run off the clock , due to pressure from the defense. |
