ha ha you are not the only one. I went and got some of the magnifiers that slip over your head like a head set and can be adjusted to tilt back when you are taking a break. My wife took pictures of me when I wasn't looking and sent to my family and made fun of me for how I looked. But you know what...I wouldn't paint without them again. They save the eyes and you'r work will be better than ever!

Pic's
Let's see the pic's Joe
Don, I just use the dollar magnifiers like Norbert mentioned, however, I may try a headset style someday...the one's I saw at Hobbytown were $40 or $60 bucks and I got cheap real quick

Desk Top/Mount Magnifier
Don,
I have tried the cheap glasses, headset, hand held but this is what I have ended up liking the most. It has a base to sit on the work bench or a clamp to attach it on the edge. They come in all price ranges you just have to shop around. There are some crappy models out there so do your homework. Geno H |

Personaly, I'm not a fan of the magnifying lamps. THe problem is that the magnification is 2 dimensions. The magnifying stuff "cheats" the distances. It's like you are blind on 1 of your eyes. It can be great for small details (eyes, for example) but not so good for people who just can see correctly on short distance and need a all around device.
The magnifying eye glasses (with 1 lense on each eye) are better because your keep the 3D effect your 2 eyes give to your brain. Distance interpretation is better. It's what I heard from other modellers. Personaly I don't need that for now (I'm "just" myopic so my short distance view is....spectacular )
