Default Progress!

Well guys,

After a few days of tweaking the Proline TTC strong round fronts I got one to run pretty good. I used a figure with the weight distributed to the back of the platform as recommended. I had to flatten and clip the back prongs a little for stability but it runs pretty good. Not real strong but can work at certain positions.

Has anyone being able to tweak these babies for strength?

I haven't been able to get them any strength out of them, but I've found them as excellent middle linebackers and safties. The best figure for them is probably the mike from FF.net, very good center of gravity.

I will certainly give you a buzz Tomkat but feel free to add to the conversation for other coaches to read. What are the techniques used to get strength out of your bases?

Strength can be had with either the fast or the strength versions. The wider prongs tend to yield more strength bases but not always. You WILL DEFINITELY need to shorten the prongs though.

As for moving the dial hub forward, that is where it was suppose to be, by design. China hosed up the hub placement. Then when they relocated it as a fix, they hosed it up again. Not far enough forward still and they over-polished the dial hole hub on the mold, making the hole too big. Once moved forward, it does have more stability and a little more strength but it tends to drop quite a bit of speed. Just keep in mind which leagues and tourneys allow chop shop bases and which do not. I'm not totally against it but it can lead to a slippery slope.... where does one draw the line at cutting and/or reconfiguring a base? But when in Rome... and whatever's clever.

Thumbs up Actually

It takes two to three times the effort to get the same effect from a regular TTC with a proline dial. I initially worked with the prolines because their width appeard to be helpful when building an offensive line. However, I quickly discovered that you could virtually cut the base in half on the field due to the peak in the front center of the base thus allowing you one side or the other to dominate.

The first run prolines are easiest to manipulate. The application of heat is essential to breaking down that forward lean. I must warn you if you are not dead solid perfect with your timing you will ruin base after base. Moreover, even when successful you must have the keen eye and skill of some of the best tweakers around to fine tune the base. Hopefully, I will have one ready when I play. Right now, limited success, and none starting.

Design flaw killed it.

Default PROLINE DIAL BASES

The proline dial bases are easy to tweak for strength. I can make them stronger than the original first run proline rookie bases and I can make them lightning fast. One must have patience in tweaking bases, every base will tell you how to tweak it, the tweaker just has to see it. Good luck fellas'.

So you can make them strong, eh? I also hear that you and your minions have captured the secrets of the "First Run" bases. I'm catching the first thing smoking to Southern Cali to meet you.

Kingpin....you will divulge your secrets or else!

Signed,

Blade...the day walker!

Although I've been able to tweak the Prolines using their own dials with some success I'd have to agree with you concerning the design. The best I can hope for is creating DB's as any other position on the field would just be over matched. They'll work in my solitaire league though. Next, I'll experiment with the shells and Miggle dials (NORBERT.....HELP!!!)
