From what I see in the pictures, I would use adhesive foam tape to secure the sheet of metal to the frame. The sheet of metal must sit on a piece of wood. You put double side adhesive foam tape all around the sheet. Use good quality tape.

I build a set of motors with a switch and a rheostat to control the speed. I can show you how to build it or build it for you.

Default I have the same board.

I played all my home games in the NEFL last season on that same board. I had a Larue cover on it, and it ran great! We used my board for our super bowl with a custom Jimbo cover on it.....SWEET! You can see how it ran if you check out our videos on youtube. Go to:

I haven't had any problems with that board. Other than turning the speed up or down.

Nat'l,
Yeah your board runs pretty good with those field covers! I have fiber board and metal fields so I thought I could help, but nothing with these type of motors mounted the way they are. I would think Coach Rip would would be best person to help tweak the board since he is most familiar with it. Maybe you would know...are those the same motors that Leo has on his board and is the board mounted to the frame like Leo's board? Do you have any possible recommendations for him? Apparently Don (detroitchild) also had to change out the motors on his to get it running better. I was just trying to help people who paid good money for a custom board so if you see any glaring issues please let us all know so we can all have great running boards.
Joe

Default It's the same Joe

The motors are the same, and they are mounted in the same place. I would PM coach RIP to see if he can give him some advice.

I have a Megawattz, a 308 and the buzzball board. I am very happy with all of them.
The Megawattz board is painted up as the 49ers, but I lay a Oilers/Titans cover over it, and it runs!

the 308 is also 49ers, RR put the extras on that baby and it runs! Artlax did a minor tweak to the field for me.

That buzzball board has been running ever since I got it. No dead spots that I have noticed.

Maybe he can change the location of where the motors are mounted? But my advice would be to try to PM George.

I also made a few boards myself (with help) If you check out the youtube clip of the trophies....that is my board with the MFCA cover on it. I still have to attach motors to it, and I want to mount legs on it as well.
I will try to take some pics of them!

Another thing I noticed is that you should always try to prop your board up on something. Like foam pillars or something. I don't know why, but they seem to run better when they are in the air.

Hope this helps!

Nat'l
